Drucquer & Sons - Trafalgar 100g
Ahhh yes
I’m 64, been a piper for about two years. I lived in England for awhile when I was very young( I have family there as my mum is English. I remember going to these very smart shops where people would buy tobacco, newspapers and such. I was always intrigued by the gents who would come in and buy pipe tobacco, also, I would be out and about and run into pipe smokers and be even more intrigued by the aroma. Needless to say, I started off with aromatics but progressed to English blends. I find that the blends that have 4-5 tobaccos in them are more complex. This is a superb blend. I smoke this in a briar that I made myself and this one that I just recently tried but will be purchasing more. Amazing blend that’s complex yet simple and smooth. I wish a could give it a full 5 stars. P.S.i rarely smoke aromatics anymore! Buy this if you’re an English blend fan. You won’t be disappointed!
Sutliff - Creme Brulee
Nah!
Sutliffe’s Maple Street puts this to shame! It’s a milder more trouble free smoke! Much more pleasing in taste and room note........Nevermind, it will leave more for me!!!
Dan Tobacco - Old Ironsides 50g
Yes!
I’ve been a piper for about 2 yrs now. I was very much exposed to piping when I lived in England. I started off of course with aromatics but soon progressed to English blends. I bought this 2 weeks ago, jarred it and tried it to day. Wow! This just so pleasant. I will be buying more of this but my problem will then be the internal argument of which of my top blends to choose from. If you like English blends then this should be in your cellar, rotation, taste library. Hope this review comes out to a full five!!!
Sutliff - Crumble Kake Virginia Perique 1.5oz
Great smoke
I liked this when I first got it and smoked right out of the tin. Taste, aroma, the way it burned. However, I jarred it up and returned to it about 5-6 months later and wow was I amazed!!! I’m now determined to buy more of this. I like the raisin/ sweet taste of this. Not to strong and not to weak. Burns well.
Seattle Pipe Club - Plum Pudding Special Reserve 4oz
Oh yeah, this is nice!
I put off for so long on trying this. I finally took the leap and glad I did! This is a blend that if treated right should give you lots of pleasure . Isn’t that what all the good ones all about ? I wished I would have tried it sooner!!
Cornell & Diehl - Pirate Kake 2oz
Yes!!
Bought this and smoked it right away from the tin. I liked it a lot but was a little harsh, naturally I jarred it up , put it away and tried other blends in my quest of tobaccos. After about 4 months I tried it again, Wow!!!! Amazing!! I’ve stocked up on this so i can get the aged/cured effect!! Truly, the good tobaccos are better with age and this is one of them!!!
Seattle Pipe Club - Plum Pudding Special Reserve 4oz
So good
I’m not going to write “War and Peace “ for a review on this. Anybody who is into English blends should have this, I put off for the longest time before I bought this and regretted not buying sooner!!!!
Sutliff - Maple Street 1.5oz
Oh yeah!
This is one of the best aromatics around. I’ve dedicated a Neerup church warden for this. I only smoke it as a treat and treats me well! I’ll smoke it year round and have put some in my cellar. This is really, really good!!
Nat Sherman - Tabac Sherman Blend #536 2oz
Really?
This is such a well balanced English blend. Tin note, so good. Moisture content, great. Packs well and smokes even better. Very smooth, mild and great flavor. I usually smoke stronger English blends but this is milder and so well balanced. I’ll smoke this reading a book or working on a hobby (pipe making) or simply just because. This must be a well kept secret cuz nobody seems to be chiming in on this.
Bengal Slices - Bengal Slices 1.75oz
Great
My first English Blend. Every English blend now has to measure up to this. I love Balkan Salsieni and Sutliff Crumble Kake English #1. Nothing else that I’ve tried based on reviews seems to measure up. These are in my rotation and I don’t see anything knocking them off!!

Sutliff - Crumble Kake English #1 1.5oz
Amazing
This seems to embrace all things English blend. Tin note mild and floral. You can smoke this straight out of tin. Smoke is very smooth and creamy. I’ll be buying more of this.
