Strong! Pipe needs cleaning
Strong. Takes getting used to. Bitter after taste! Okay for occasional smoke!!
Sutliff - Barbados Plantation 1.5oz
Fine but ...
The pleasant whiff on opening the tin was nice, but the smoke-experience improves after airing the tobacco. Probably uses some additives to keep it moist longer, but that results in a not to pleasant taste and even feels a bit bitter, acrid.
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Dark Bird's Eye
Didn't enjoy
A bit too strong (tongue-burn), Barely tolerable mixed with Borkum Riff (regular).
Savinelli - Essenza Cipriota 100g
Very nice - my new FAV
Nice for a gentle, slow, brooding-contemplating smoke. Alternates nicely with Larsen Perfect mixture. A bit strong without being too *biting*. Hopefully remains consistent as it dries up a bit over time.
Mac Baren - Navy Flake 3.5oz
Not a high preference
Fine for a smoke but after a few days (dries?) and loses its aroma-smoking pleasure. The flakes feel a bit *woody* and flakes harder to crumble. I tried keeping it in a bag @ 80% RH but did not help much.
Cobblestone - Indulge Walnut Maple Pie 1.5oz
Not my pipe of smoke!
Aromatic but although I love walnut and maple aroma, this one was just too overwhelming and a bit bitter aftertaste. The tobacco and nicotine (primary reason for smoking) got totally lost in the smoke and fog!
Seattle Pipe Club - Plum Pudding Bourbon Barrel Aged 2oz
Plum pudding-bourbon
strong aroma, nice smoke, takes a few pipefuls to get used to. Blends nicely with Lane tobaccos such as LL7, raspberry etc.

Nice, unobtrusive whiff on opening bag. Does tend to dry out fast so best kept tightly closed or vacuume sealed between uses. Consistent moderately mild smoke, tobacco burns nicely and fully, hardly any gummy tar residues!

Nice, But...
Whiff on opening pouch more tolerable than Sutliff but still a bit unsettling. Smoke-experience is good; perhaps can be more enjoyable if mixed with courvoisier armatic, Larson 1854 etc. Still overall fine. Tobacco does tend to dry fast if left in its pouch (closed) and so best kept sealed in a vacuum pouch between uses. Nice spicy overtones when smoking, though! Might work better if blended with other flatter blends!
Sutliff - Z92 Vanilla Custard
OKish BUT...
BAD impression with the strong vanilla-carmel-volatile whiff when the bag was opened. Marginally okay smoke-experience but definitely not my go-for, for that first smoke in the morning... :-(
Peterson - Early Morning Pipe 50g
Nicely different!
Simple straight no-nonsense WYSIWYG (S for SMOKE...!). Nice start of the smoke-day! Take one (or two) first thing in the morning and ease into more complex blends for the day...! Repeat again, next morning!!

Good stuff
steady, good consistency (smoke to smoke), burns clean without tarry residue, 8/10 smokes a pleasure. The remaining two I take the blame for my hasty packing and not cleaning the pipe fully! ;-)
Cornell & Diehl - Rajah's Court 2oz
Rajah Court-martialled!
Rajah did not live up to its reputation. The faint background ambiance was fine but the smoke left a lot to be desired. Hence reaching out to Savinelli aromatic and my other steady favourites. Even airing did not help much. One positive was that it did not leave behind a lot of tarry goop! SIGH!!
Peterson - Connoisseur's Choice 50g
Very good quality, nearly excellent
Fine hint of berry aroma more in the 1st half of tin. Works nicely with my brigham pipes. Very low goopy tar. Can vie to become a regular!
Savinelli - Aroma 50g
Good
Nice medium strength, pleasing smoke. Flavour reduces a bit towards the last 1/4th of tin, but still satisfactory. Does tend to get brittle towards the end and pipe needs cleaning because tobacco becomes crumbly and finer in particles (tobacco dust!)

one brand to avoid in future, for me! Oh well...! July 2021 (1 year later...) Sealed and packed it away, tried again. Aging, humidification -- nothing helped. How do I remove the 1/2 star from original rating? But to what end?? It is not being stocked any longer!!
A&C Petersen - Escudo Navy Deluxe 50g
Okay.
Ribbon-necessary to cut into small pieces to make filling easier. Burns rather slowly but tends to leave more tar in the pipe and wet residue. Tongue bite is there and can reduce the pleasure a bit. Okay for occasional use...
John Cotton's - Number 3 1.75oz
Okay.
Seemed good at first, but as the days passed, it became fairly dry and began more tarry, requiring frequent wet-cleaning and lost its general character. Probably not going to my favourites or wish-list.
Larsen - Signature Vintage Mixture 100g
Very nice and smooth
Pleasant aroma, though tended to fade towards the end of the tin. Perhaps would be better if smoked from a 50g tin, instead of a 100g one (drying). Still pretty enjoyable. In the second tin that I am trying, I notice that there is more tar and pipes need more frequent drying and cleaning. Rest is good as before.

Best so far!
Perfect and consistent taste and smoke quality from first smoke to the last one. Would have given it 5 stars, but the site would not let me go beyond the 4.5...!
Presbyterian - Presbyterian 50g
NICE++...!
Moderate strength, burns cleanly leaving ash, no sticky tarry residue. Pipe needs less frequent wet cleaning (isoprop. alc.) and pleasant room note (increases after the tobacco dries out over a few days somewhat once sealed tin has been opened)
Orlik - Golden Sliced 100g
NICE++...!
Very nice, balanced performance! liked it increasingly with usage. Little issues on tar residues, and smoked well -- pipe needed less frequent cleaning than other tobaccos I smoked. Good, stable, predictable smokes!
Cornell & Diehl - Apricots and Cream 2oz
NICE, but...!
Initial impression: favourable, but does have more tar content, needed frequent cleaning of the pipe. The aroma was reasonably pleasant. Tobacco retained its slightly moist and soft consistency throughout the lifetime of the opened can. Room note remained constant.
Cornell & Diehl - Cordial
WORST tobacco
Bad phenolic-mouldy smell and a bad smoking experience. Not worthy of even half a star!

NICE, but...!
Nice smooth at the beginning but towards the bottom part of the bag (last 5-6 smokes) lost its aroma, became dry and burnt too fast and did develop a bite, even with freshly cleaned pipe. For some reason, it did not like the brigham filter pipes either at the beginning nor towards the end of the package. Not sure why :-(

burns nicely and gently, if packed properly. No bite, subdued but enjoyable aroma. I like it!
Dobie's Four Square - Red Aromatic 1.75oz
NICE...!
Prefers being smoked gently, nice room note, can have a bite, helps to clean the pipe more frequently than other tobaccos.
Paladin - Black Cherry 1.5oz
NICE...!
Surprisiingly, turned out to be quite nice! Nice aroma, consistent burn-rate and no harsh after effects during the first few pipe-fulls.
