Cornell & Diehl - Night Train 16oz
Different than expected
As usually it's made from quality leaf.I expected more burley. This is perfect for people who smoke mainly Virginia blends that want to try something with more burley.Ill throw the rest of the cake in a jar and come back to it later.Nothing bad to say...just not for me.
Cornell & Diehl - Engine #99
WOW
Just wow.Rich oily smoke.Fantastic taste....just a real f****n winner.
Cornell & Diehl - Briar Fox 2oz
Bland
They should add some type of top note or casing.Really should more Burley.I gave a half start because of the huge nicotine burst. This is my least favorite blend from c&d.They make my top 2 favorite blends.I guess it's just to much Virginia for me.If you like the flue cured stuff you might have different experience.
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Brown Bogie
Really good
A Virginia for Burnley lovers.I have stocked up on this when I could. Its strong and smooth. This is only Virginia that doesn't bite me and I've tried a few of them.If you can find it you should try it.
Cornell & Diehl - Crowley's Best
Great
I smoke burley blends.I love burley with perique. This give me some latakia in my rotation. Its great like it is.It reminds me of a really fine cigar.Order an ounce....you might find you have a new favorite.
Daughters & Ryan - Picayune 40g
Winner
Glad I tried it.This is one I'll keep a few times of.Right up there with haunted bookshop.
Low Country - Natural Virginia & Burley
Still smoking it
Just broke open the jar from 2018.Its great. If I had know it aged this well I would have gotten 2 more pounds. This would be a great base for adding a blending tobacco. This imo is the best of this kinda blend.
Carter Hall - Carter Hall 14oz
Everybodies secret
I think anyone who has tried it like its. They secretly smoke it of the big tubs they would buy while saying they hate it.Its the creamiest smoke you'll ever get. This and haunted bookshop....well anything by c&d.
Peter Stokkebye - PS400 Luxury Navy Flake
3rd year is the charm
Bought this when I first set out on my pipe smoking journey. After reading the reviews of Virginia's in general I knew I'd be a Virginia man...wrong.Virginia doesn't agree with me.It bites me every time within four puffs no matter how easy or slow and do bland.Im an old Joe meant man all the way.All that being said..i have pounds of a few virginias which I'll smoke on occasion. This flake finally gave me what I heard Virginia's were suppose to taste like.I packed a v. Acorn last night and forgot it.The top was really dry and I thought I'd be throwing away another pipe full of virginia.i was so wrong.Iwrong.I got a cup of coffee and sat down on the porch on this crisp fall morning and the pipe and tobacco smoked themselves. After three years no bite..there is a deep tangybitterness....tart caramel?malty sweetness.Ill be smoking this in some I on occasions. And the worst Virginia that no amount of cellar one will help....full v.flake..nasty.Anyway it needs age but good job peter
Cornell & Diehl - Crowley's Best
creamy
The only blend I smoke with latakia.Sweet,Smokey and smooth.I think the perique leaves a creamy after taste.Just a good tasting blend.
Samuel Gawith - Full Virginia Flake 250g
4 yr.s and counting
Not for me.I bought a 250 g. box right at 4 years ago.It does not agree with me.I love 1792,bosun cut, brown bogie. It bites me like a rabid dog no matter how slow I sip.Once a year I pull a flake out.It looks beautiful and has aged like a champ.I could sit and just smell it in the jar for 30 min.I just can't seem to like it in any pipe or anyway I prepare it.I consider it tobacco abuse that it's not being enjoyed by someone who likes it.But I don't know another pipe smoker to give it to,so a flake a year till it's gone.I gave it a three because it's not the tobacco fault.
Peterson - 3 P's Peterson's Perfect Plug 50g
Give it time.
Down to my last three tins. Its good stuff.Just don't pack it into a bowl you forgot you only smoke Samuel Gawith xx rope in.Mmmmm....not so great. It really is a great blend.
Cornell & Diehl - Black Frigate 8oz
WELL
When I first smoked it,I didn't like it.Put it in a jar like a year ago.Well I just found the jar and am in the middle of a bowl. Its different and I like different. The only blend to get the rum heat on the back corners of your tongue right.Im smoking in a tapered bowl and I think that's a mistake. It was really shining in the wide top.No need to lie,I'm going now to order an 8oz.tin.Also I like that the latakia is not bitter, but sweet and woody.Try it.
Peter Stokkebye - PS17 English Luxury
suprised
Bought it about a year and a half ago.My first english.I didn't care for it then.Ive grown to like a little latakia in certain blends.I found this tonight and popped the lid and loaded a bowl. Its really good.Im not an expert on any blends but I like this.New smokers like me looking for a first English could do worse.Try it.
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Kendal Kentucky
Love it.
Just popped a jar.I guess it's a little over a year since I jarred it.If you like burley or dark fired leaf you need to try this. You will adjust the first 1/4 of the bowl and then its beautiful. Its a rich, mello, smooth tobacco. Its hands down the best purr tobacco I've ever tasted.Smoke it in a small billard. When you get done you won't think oh I wish it had this or kinds tasted like that.I promise you'll say....hmmmm that was perfect.
Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Night
Beautiful
This is a beautiful blend.I love it.Great anytime but really shines smoked after dinner.I highly recommend you try an ounce.
Cornell & Diehl - Bayou Night
Creamy
This blend is great.I really think this is my new favorite. I will order by the pound from now on.
Cornell & Diehl - Pegasus
Great
Cornell & Diehl make the best pipe tobaccos hands down. This one is one of the best.Get 2 oz.s and a country gentleman mm pipe.First thing in the morning pack this in the pipe and pair it with a cup of coffee....boom.Real perfection. You can't go wrong with this one.Its stays lit, smokes cool, taste great.
Dan Tobacco - Bill Bailey's Balkan Blend 50g
Good
It needs 10-15 minutes of drying time then your good to go
Samuel Gawith - Black XX Rope 50g

Everyone else does. For many bad reviews it's always sold out and does so fast. Its really good.Buy all you can.If you don't like it trade it later.
G. L. Pease - Union Square 2oz
10 yrs
Don't know if fresh is good but with 10 yrs it ok.Wait since I doubt you will get a tin with 8-10 yrs of age I should say it taste good you should try it and oh yeah it ages really well also instead of boasting I had a tin with years of ageing which has nothing to do with the tin you are about to purchase I should say sorry for being an ass
Samuel Gawith - Full Virginia Flake 250g
Not for me
I just don't like it.I have smoked it fresh all the way up to a year from a mason jar.Luxury navy flake taste better to me.My taste buds must be different.1792 is the best they offer or anyone else for that matter.
Low Country - Natural Virginia & Burley
Plain
For $20.00/lb it's great. It can be an anytime tobacco. If you want something were you have to pick out the flavors like night cap go buy night cap.But remember you pay night cap prices.Thank you low country for a stout rough around the edges make you turn green nutty bittery sour if don't like it don't smoke it but please quit complaining because it doesn't taste like ab$15 a tin affordable Burley blend.Dont sell it to anyone but me I think it's perfect.
Cornell & Diehl - Haunted Bookshop
Awesome
All the negatives people say they have about this blend are positive for me.I love it.If you have some and don't want it I have some of that crap full Virginia flake I'll happily trade for it.
Grand Croupier - Boneyard
Suprised
I don't smoke my Latakia blends a when I do it's light or sweet. That being said I'm glad I tried this. After the first quarterbwhen it calms down the smoke get sweet and creamy. If you like latikia and English blends for this price you can't afford not to try it.
Grand Croupier - Double Down
Va/per not back/bur
My second pound of this was like bayou morning with double the perique and a small splash of burley and sprinkle of unsweet black Cavendish. It had to be the bottom of a bag of bm
Sutliff - Ready Rubbed Match
Me like
This is now my all day smoke and the only sutliff worth smoking.I almost didn't try it because I tried creme brulee first which after 6 months on a plate is still wet.Not natural
Cornell & Diehl - Shandygaff
Better
After 6 months in a jar and smoking in a larger pipe it has gained a star. Also the top note has diminished.
A&C Petersen - Escudo Navy Deluxe 50g
Not as good as the prototype
This is very good.Although i didnt smoke the original like pete r i did which was kinda a reissue i was lucky enough to smoke the prototype for escudo which i was kinda the original which my grand father had 2 of only 10 tins produced. This tobacco is so very close to the prototype way more than the first reissue pete r smoked so your not missing anything by not smoking that first reissue.Anyway the current escudo is really great you should try it.Oh and the tin of the prototype i smoked was 100 years old.Oh and also im sorry for comparing this to the very first escudo not the one pete r smoked but the one before that.I know how some people hate hearing about how the original was better especially when the original is so old most smokers will never get to try it thus leaving new smokers to think well maybe im not smoking the best made escudo therefore mildy ruining there enjoyment of the tobacco. So next time insread of bragging about me smoking the oldest tin of escudo made ill keep the elitist part of my brain quite and reveiw the tobacco everyone here wants to hear about which is the current escudo.Which again is very good you should try it
Cornell & Diehl - Old Joe Krantz
Great
I have finally found my desert island tobacco. It might not be for everyone but it is my perfect tobacro thank you Rob and thank your grandfather. You can't take anything with you when you leave this world and that makes the things you enjoy why your here really important.Again a true heartfel thanks for this blend. This is the only blend I smoke and never think oh I wish it had more of this and Less of that really a great burley blend
Cornell & Diehl - Shandygaff
No thank you
Not what I thought it would be from the components. And the top note wasn't to my liking.I like fuller tasting tobaccos.
Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired Ready Rubbed

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Kendal Kentucky

Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired 3.5oz
Greathe customer service
This is for the the awesome customer service at the site
Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired 3.5oz
Rusthe under the lid
This is my second favorite to bacco after sg1792 flake but the lastonishing tiniest ordered had rust under the lid which compromised the seal and made the product unable to be smoked and when they sent me a replacement tin it to suffered the same problem.I don't know where the tins are getting wet at but will give the blend 2 stars because I know what it should taste like in a properly sealed tin.
Peterson - Irish Flake 50g
Love it
This is like the 5th pipe tobacco I have tried and so far is my favorite.I got a very late start with pipes and hope this is one blend the fda leaves alone. When did it come out?
McClelland - Craftsbury: Frog Morton's Cellar 50g
It delivers
I usually smoke rope amd plug blends in bulk but this month i went off the reservation and bought all kinds of tin goodies. This is one you hear about aaaallll the time so i tried it.It delivers everything ive read about it.I see why people like it i plan on getting a few big tins to cellar. The latakia comes on strong at first then takes a little step back and lets the other flavors unfold with it.I like the way the flavors evolvtoThe best of both tobaccos come thru and combine to give you a slight berry sweetness and how the cube gives it that soft whiskey note in the back of your throat ties it all together it really suprised me by how much i liked it.I would recommend it if you like either latakia or virginia.Try it
Peterson - 3 P's Peterson's Perfect Plug 50g
New pipe smoker
This a very flavorful tobacco the only thing I don't like is it doesn't come in bulk
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Brown Bogie
All I need
This is the first pipe tobacco that I smoked after smoking cigars for about a year and it's perfect.A rich tobacco flavor slightly sweet and just what I thought pipe tobacco should taste like.It taste almost identical to ca macho crollover coronas. Thanks to all the pipe smokers for being so free with there methods to prepare it and drying times.I love this leaf I found you can smoke it chew it and dry it out to grind up into snuff which was also great. This is a perfect outdoors man tobacco. And on top of this I get it the day after I order. Thanks for the great service.
