Peterson - University Flake 50g
Meh
I found this one to be really bland. I'm definitely a Burley lover too. Not enough nutty or chocolate to it. Try at your own risk. Stick to Solani or dunhill flakes.

Daughters & Ryan - Cockstrong 3.5oz
Wow
If you like Burley you will love this. Top shelf taste. I could smoke this exclusively if I ever go codger.

Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - Small Batch Aged Virginia 1.75oz
Greatful
This was my first experience with Virginias aged this long. The wise smokers before more were not kidding about the delight that is aged VA. All of the harsh edginess VA sometimes possess is gone and what is left is a sweet, citrus and smooth smoke that does not disappoint. Mine box was more broken flake than ribbon so it smoked very slowly and without much moisture as I did not dry at all.

Solani - Virginia Flake - 633 100g
Perfect
This is a wonderful Dunhill Flake replacement. This is probably better. Very sweet and a little tang.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Bob's Square Cut
Don't expect Choc Flake
This is a stunning tobacco. Sweet and floral in a subtle Lakeland way. The Latakia compliments the vanilla wonderfully. Cool burning and sweet VA make for a Terrific tobacco. Just know this is an aromatic with lots of flavor and Lakeland love. I like it better than Choc flake as this has more flavor. Just don't buy this thinking they are similar.

Mac Baren - HH Old Dark Fired 1.75oz
A top tier
Can't go wrong with this one if you prefer tobacco forward blends. This is an instant classic. Room note similar to cigars, a bit harsh. Love it.

Peterson - Balkan Mixture 50g
Skip
In the wonderfully vast ocean of delicious English/Balkan blends this one is low on the list. That being said I won't be in pain finishing it. I just find it bland and forgettable.

Sutliff - 507C Virginia Slices
It will do.
This is a decent VA flake. Topping is extremely mild and flavor holds fine VA notes. Little one dementional. Found getting through my sample something of a choir. Not bad by any means but I won't order again.

Cornell & Diehl - Byzantium
Worth a go.
This is a decent English blend. I smoked up my sample without trouble. This blend just doesn't quite stand up to some of the others C&D have to offer. By no means is this a bad tobacco, just didn't sing for me. I had to dry it a little.

Cornell & Diehl - Tuggle Hall
Brings the Burley
Great marriage between English blends and toasty Burley. Perfect out of the bag.

Hearth & Home - WhiteKnight 1.75oz
Solid
Nothing bad to say about this one. It is fairly mild, and could definitely qualify as an all day English, I prefer this to Dunhil offerings.

G. L. Pease - Gaslight 2oz
In love
This stuff just does it for me. I could smoke it everyday, and thus must order more.

Peterson - Balkan Mixture 50g
Worth trying
In the new world without Dunhil you might want to give this a try. I think it is a little too mild for repurchase.

Peter Stokkebye - PS3 Cherry
Decent
Nice subtle Cherry aro without the preponderance of Cavendish. Burns fairly hot and quick, recommend a little dry time and a tighter pack.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Dark Bird's Eye
Alas, tobacco
This would be a great choice for people trying to leave behind their cigarettes. The heavy vitamin content left me swimming peacefully on a warm Virginia spring evening. I will certainly be buying greater quantities. I found the taste mild, smooth and cool, even with heavy puffing.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Broken Scotch Cake
Yum
I found this to be a particularly pleasant smoke. This tobacco burns nicely, with no bite. I found the flavor light and the room note delightful. The taste was sweet, but not domineering like some aromatics can be. The aftertaste is almost non existent, unlike the lingering flavor Cavendish often promotes. I will surely be ordering more of this. I can see this easily becoming a go to tobacco and can't wait to burn more of it!

McClelland - 2000 - Fragrant Matured Cake
Bargain
This is a sweet, mild, and dry smoke. Half a bowl can smoke all night for the paced smoker. I absolutely love these flake cuts from McClelland. I find this a little smoother than Red Cake.

McClelland - Craftsbury: Frog Morton's Cellar 50g
Mecca
This is one of those blends where the hype is justified. The smell and flavors of this blend are outstanding start to finish. I will be buying again. My lady even delighted on the tin note.

Peter Stokkebye - PS315 Black Coffee
Coffee accoutrement
This pairs particularly well with its namesake. The coffe taste is at the back of a larger pull, but still faint. That being said, the taste is most desirable and the aroma pleasant. I would certainly recommend to aromatic enjoyers. Would likely order again. Burns rather slowly.

McClelland - 5100 - Red Cake
A smooth eve
Like many have said on this one, smooth and sweet. This burns slow and cool, so the higher cost is mitigated by how long your smoke will last. Paired well with Mr. Dickens on a lovely fall eve.

McClelland - Grand Orientals: Classic Samsun 50g
Step into the Orient
I followed the direction of the fine reviewers here and am very pleased to have. Smooth and mild oriental that burns fabulously and cool. This goes well with a long book. Thanks for the suggestions people!

Peter Stokkebye - PS403 Luxury Bullseye Flake
First Vaper
This fired up and burned nicely as both my first vaper and first gorgon eye. The smell is tremendous, and the tastes varying forms of delicious. I will buy in bulk next time. Easily one of my favorite tobaccos.

Captain Black - Premium Edition Black Sea 1.75oz
An odd aromatic
This blend burns beautifully in any pipe I smoke it. With delicious campfire notes others have mentioned, and cool for billowing creations and Gandalfian smoke rings. It doesn't taste like many other aromatics I've tried, and I enjoy it when feeling indecisive at my cellar (linens closet).

Seattle Pipe Club - Plum Pudding Special Reserve 4oz
Wow
This is the best smoking tobacco I have tried. More depth than other English varieties. Gear up for a long smoke though, took about 2 hours for my first bowl.

Lane Limited - Black Raspberry
Pleaser
This is one of the few aromatics I have tried which tastes as good as it smells. Non smokers enjoy the smell as well. I will be ordering much more of this goodie.

Lane Limited - 1-Q
Virgin Vauen
I tried this for the first time while breaking in an unsmoked Vauen. This stuff is a treat to smoke. Mild flavor and burns wonderfully. This will definitely be ubiquitous in my rotation. Great for new pipe smokers too.

McClelland - 5110 - Dark English Full
New to pipes
This was my first foray into English style blends and what a treat. Smokes smoothly and burns nicely. I accidentally double ordered and what a pleasant mistake that was. Not too complex, works well when indecision strikes.
