Fratello - Navetta Robusto Discovery
Great smoke
Tastes great, espresso and light nuts are what I noted. Medium to full and hard to put down. Construction is near perfect. Even burn, excellent draw with a 9mm punch and a nice firm set of caps that never failed. Very attractive and delicious.
AJ Fernandez - New World Puro Especial Robusto
Great smoke
This was very enjoyable. Compared to the New World Connecticut this is just right for my taste. It has enough spice and flavor without being too strong. The wrapper tastes great and holds up well. No burn or draw issues. Overall I enjoyed this Puro very much, it is the perfect balance of flavor and strength profile.
Tatuaje - Havana VI Verocu No. 5
Great little smoke
This was very smooth and well made. It had an even burn with a nice draw. Very nice taste, not plain or overly complex. I was surprised by how much strength this little cigar has. It's too much for me to enjoy regularly, but at this price I'm perfectly happy smoking half and letting it burn out.
Illusione - Rothchildes Maduro
Peppery and full flavored
A very good stick. Good body and burns well, just a bit faster than some. The draw is nice and it's well made. There is a lingering peppery aftertaste that is nice.
Cornell & Diehl - Sunday Picnic 2oz
Very good
A surprising addition to my warm weather rotation. Sunday Picnic is a little malty, a little sweet with raisin notes. I was expecting either spiciness or a bland Virginia but this was neither. My tin is only a few months old and the broken flakes are very soft and light with a raisin tin note. I'm sure with age this tobacco will be even more delicious.
Cornell & Diehl - Sunset Harbor Flake 2oz
This needs an 8 oz tin
Deep, rich and satisfying. This blend is a surprise! It took a bit for me to figure out what I was tasting, the first bowl was different and I couldn't quite tell what was going on. I tried it again on a cooler day and oh my, instant favorite. The flavor is very deep, its not harsh, and there is an exotic richness to it. At first I was apprehensive because I am not a fan of blends that are heavy on latakia, oriental and perique. This blend is so well done that none of them stand out as overpowering, they all work well together. I would recommend this to anyone that appreciates a full flavored smoke, you will be very pleased.
Books - Pipes and Tobaccos Magazine Fall 2018
Another great issue
Great articles this month! It's always a good idea to put the current issue in your cart when it's in stock.
Cleaners & Cleaning Supplies - B. J. Long Churchwarden Pipe Cleaners (32 pack)
Great!
Long makes great pipe cleaners. They are priced well and work. This size works well in my churchwarden.
Books - Pimo's Guide To Pipe Crafting at Home
Excellent book
This book is great! It's filled with a lot of helpful information.
G. L. Pease - Kensington 2oz
Very good
Kensington is a great blend, I'm glad I tried it. I would compare it to Pease's Westminster, which is 1 of 5 Pease blends in my rotation. In Kensington I taste a lighter than usual latakia portion and for that reason I'll keep some handy. Some days I need my English blends but it's too darn hot out, this blend seems to work for those occasions.
Mac Baren - Norwood 100g
Great!
Absolutely delicious. I'm not a huge burley fan but Norwood is more than a typical burley tobacco. It has the molasses flavor and some chocolate hints, but it's smooth, deep and very satisfying.
G. L. Pease - Haddo's Delight 2oz
Well done!
A delicious blend that matches the description. Not an everyday smoke for me but great to have on hand when I need a boost of energy in my day.
Books - Pipes and Tobaccos Magazine Summer 2018
Wonderful reading
Beautiful pictures, great articles, what's not to love?
Villiger - Mini Vanilla
Good little cigars
These are good, not full of flavor but pretty good. The tin is wrapped, the cigars aren't individually wrapped but there is a paper wrapper like in flake tobacco. Overall these are a good price for an attractive tin of cigarette sized cigars. There is more spice than sweetness but at less than a buck apiece they're pretty good.
Filters & Adaptors - Adapter 9mm to 3mm Reducer
Simple adapter
This didn't fit my MM Washington Rob Roy, but I didnt do my research so I can't blame the item. As it is, it's a sturdy adapter that can be trimmed down to fit. For the price it's a good deal.
Punch - Rare Corojo Magnum
Excellent!
A beautiful cigar, rich and delicious. If you get the chance, order a bunch.
Erinmore - Erinmore Flake 50g
Great!
Very smooth and a fruity note. It burns easily and is mellow enough for smoking a few times a day. I love the room note, my wife says she hates it. The aroma and flavor are unique for certain.
Mac Baren - Plumcake 3.5oz
Very nice
I decided to try latakias again, I've taken a break for a while. Plumcake has just the right amount of latakia and a delicious plum flavor. Nothing about this blend is overpowering and it's just smooth as can be. It burns very cool and clean, has a wonderful room note and just tastes so good. I can't get enough of this blend. Now I'm going through my rotation and finding not much interest in the virginias and burleys. If this blend sticks around I'll be buying lots of it, and really messing up my rotation!
G. L. Pease - The Virginia Cream 2oz
Very nice
This is an aromatic in a different sense. As the description states, it's for virginia lovers who want something with a bit of sweet flavor. It is as described and it is not a heavy aromatic. I liked it, very natural tasting but a faint sweetness of vanilla. I think it needs aging, the tobacco flavors are too present on their own with a fresh can. It's still good, but I think age would mellow them all and make it a nice sweet smoke.
Daughters & Ryan - Three Sails 3.5oz
Pretty good
This isn't too bad, this particular shag cut is very fine and brittle but for the price I can't take away from the rating for that. It tasted like a virginia, but a bit more harsh than I expected. For the price though, it's a good deal
Drew Estate - Kentucky Fire Cured Chunky
Very smooth
Finishing this now, very rich and delicious. It's not as strong as some but still smoky and rich.
Acid - Krush Classic Blue Connecticut (10 Pack)
Great flavor
These are very enjoyable, lots of flavor and smooth. My wife and I both tried one after dinner and are very happy. Definitely recommend these, lots of sweet flavor, honey or vanilla.
Solani - Virginia Flake - 633 50g
Great!
I have added this to my rotation, it's very enjoyable. I can taste a bit of fruit, it is a little malty, and a nice medium strength. I replaced Dunhill flake with this in my lumberman. So far it seems to behave better and is a bit of a brighter smoke. Very happy with this tobacco!
Cleaners & Cleaning Supplies - B. J. Long Regular Pipe Cleaners (100 pack)
Great deal
You can't go wrong with the price of these! They perform their function and are the perfect length to fit most pipes.
Mac Baren - Navy Flake 3.5oz
A great tobacco!
I tried this based on the reviews and I am very glad I did. It is a beautiful flake that smokes so well. I taste the burley and what seems like a light molasses. Absolutely delicious.
Sutliff - Christmas Spice
Will keep for Xmas
A nice ribbon that burns well despite being a tad moist. At first I tasted chocolate but I think it was the caramel and vanilla fooling my brain. Towards the bottom of the bowl the cinnamon popped up and went away, a nice surprise. The Mrs. said she smells eggnog but I have no sense of it. I like it. This will be a very pleasant smoke to enjoy this winter.
Villiger - Tropical Export 1.5oz
Delicious
Definitely benefits from air time, but great pouch note and excellent aroma. The flavor is definitely tropical. A great price too! I should add that this is a large ribbon cut, very chunky. I spent some time breaking it up but it was worth it.
Peter Stokkebye - PS403 Luxury Bullseye Flake
Great coins
Tastes a little sweeter to me than Escudo Navy Deluxe, but similar. The core looked solid and was a bit chunky after rubbing this out. I'm not complaining because it provides sweet spots in the smoke. I really enjoyed this and feel like time would serve it well.
Dan Tobacco - Milonga 50g
A good tobacco
This is not an overpowering flavored blend. It has delicious caramel and vanilla flavors that come and go.
Dunhill - Flake 50g
Wonderful flake
I dont mind the round tin. Yes they are stuck together but I take my time and rub it out anyways. At first I didn't see the appeal to this flake but I worked on my method a bit and found that rubbed out and using the breath method produces a very long and delicious smoke. I loved every bit of it and added it to my rotation.
Cult - Blood Red Moon 50g
Well done!
This does indeed smoke well without a bite! I taste some cherry, not a normal cherry, a bit muted. Occasionally some chocolate. The flavors work well together and are not overpowering. I believe another reviewer called it candy-like and I somewhat agree. I would say candy because it's a sweeter than normal cherry flavor, in the background to a pretty decent burley/virginia blend. I rate this well because all the flavors described are there and it smokes so well!
Five Brothers - Five Brothers 1.25oz
Burley!
Just straight burley in a shag cut. Very well packaged and great quality. I tried it just out of curiosity, too strong for me. If you like burley and a strong kick you will enjoy this.
Low Country - Natural Virginia & Burley
Pretty good
It's a great blend considering the price. I had a hard time detecting the flavors but overall it was pretty good. I tasted more nuttiness than anything else.
Cornell & Diehl - Bright Virginia Ribbon
Great!
This is a very tasty ribbon! Easy to work with and a joy to smoke.
Peter Stokkebye - PS84 Turkish Blend
I would order again
This had nice spiciness, could have been sweeter. I like it though, different than regular virginias and a nice change of pace.
Peter Stokkebye - PS701 Virginia
Nice to blend with
Not bad on its own, great for the price. Some sweetness and it burns well, beautiful ribbon.
Cornell & Diehl - Old College
Unique
Mine could have had a bit more moisture but it was okay. The aromatic quality was very faint but noticeable. Semi smokey, no bite.
Lane Limited - LL-7
Smooth and delightful
A very good blend, not overly sweet. Excellent flavor and aroma. Like others said it's a Smores flavor.
Lane Limited - Vanilla Black Cavendish
Great!
If you like very sweet vanilla blends you'll like this. It has more aroma than flavor in my opinion, but still a lot of flavor. I took a star off for the granular cut and high moisture. It can be dried a little and takes some care while packing, but aside from that it's full of vanilla.
Lane Limited - Black Toasted Cavendish
Enjoyable
This to me was a nice blend, I didn't expect a normal deep aromatic flavor. It's hard to describe but to me it was enjoyable like eating a crispy marshmallow instead of a perfectly browned one. Take that how you will, I liked this blend and feel it deserves a good review.
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Kentucky Nougat
Very enjoyable
A great blend, not to heavy and just enough flavor for aromatic fans. I had mine jarred for half a year and not much change in flavor, still kind of a mocha. This one is sure to please many.
Cornell & Diehl - Izmir Turkish
A good component
This made for a nice component to play around with other blends. I didn't care for it alone but that is a personal preference. It is a good tobacco with a distinct aroma and flavor.
Newminster - No.80 Norway Pipe Cut
Very nice blend
I enjoyed this. It was a nice mellow smoke, very smooth and bite free. No problems with moisture or bite. I was reminded of Norwegian Blend, but this seemed a touch smoother and more mild.
Dan Tobacco - Bill Bailey's Balkan Blend 50g
Very good
Nice and smokey, nice rich flavor. Almost ready to go out of the tin.
Sutliff - D40 Vanilla
Pretty good
It's clean and pleasant, not a heavy blend. I found it to be a nice change from Sutliff's usual blends that benefit from some drying. Decent flavor too.
Solani - X - Sweet Mystery 50g
Unique
This is a hard one to review so I'll keep it short. It's a great blend with sweet and sour notes. Some air time before lighting would help. It's the kind of blend that you sit and ponder about what it is that your tasting. Very refreshing and well done!
Peter Stokkebye - PS400 Luxury Navy Flake
Excellent
Very clean and easy burning. A little malty and overall very tasty. I'll be ordering much more of this.
Sutliff - D61-Vanilla Royale
Lots of vanilla
If you can't get enough vanilla and have patience to attempt drying this, you'll love it. It was too mild for me, with a lot of vanilla. The description is very accurate so I think it's great for those that enjoy lots of vanilla.
Sutliff - Red Virginia Ribbon
Nice component
I tried it on its own, it was okay. I eventually used it to experiment with mixing into other blends. The results were positive, it added a nice sweetness while toning down some overpowering blends.
Kramer's - House Aromatic
It's okay
I took a long time to make my mind up about this one. I'm just not that crazy about it. I didn't hate it but to me it seemed a bit bland. Not much flavor or room note. Perhaps it's because I bought bulk, I don't know, Kramer's does have plenty of happy customers.
Peter Stokkebye - PS31 Optimum
Great!
What makes this blend stand out in my opinion is that it has a rich flavor and aroma like many aromatics but I can still taste the tobacco. Its a great blend that I enjoy every now and then but not everyday.
Peter Stokkebye - PS23 B & B
Nice aroma
I liked the aroma, the flavor was good but I think storage will make it better. A nice aromatic that doesn't disappoint, I'll order more someday.
Sutliff - SPS-2013 Zurich Delight
Very good
Nice flavor balance between chocolate and tobacco. Very smooth and great aroma. I was pleasantly surprised by this blend and might order 4 ounces to jar, just in case it disappears.
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Cherry Cream Flake
Pretty good
One of the few cherry blends i can enjoy. The flavor is not a normal in your face cherry, it's more of a tobacco flavor with a hint of smooth cherry. I didn't air mine out first like I should have. I thought it seemed ready to smoke but it could use some drying, it seemed like it wanted to bite. Overall I can see cherry fans enjoying this blend, it's nice.
Sutliff - 1M
Very smooth
Great blend, smooth and tasty. A bit smoother that 1Q, just as good but a bit more moist.
Cleaners & Cleaning Supplies - Pipe Brush w/Nylon Bristles
Good cleaner
Did not scratch anything and works well.
Planta - Sans Souci
Dry
I ordered an ounce and it was pretty dry. I couldn't get much flavor. It was not terrible just dried up.
Replacement Stems - Amber Straight Non-Filtered Stem (for Missouri Meerschaum)
Nice stem
These are great for odd estate pipes that need a stem or a flash of color.
Cleaners & Cleaning Supplies - Brebbia Stem Polish (7.5 ml)
Serves its purpose well
I use this to smooth the surface and clean stems that are faded, filthy or just plain nasty. It does well and a little goes a long way. For stems that don't need this kind of cleaning, obviously chap stick works well.
Cleaners & Cleaning Supplies - Paragon Wax 1oz
Good wax
This works well on smooth pipes. It's hard to buff by hand but fast and easy with a drill and buffing wheel. Shine lasts about a week for me, but I'm a mechanic and dont always have the cleanest hands. I will buy more when I run out.
Cornell & Diehl - Gentleman Caller 2oz
Unique
I can't get over how interesting this blend is. To be honest I can't tell if I like it or not. I keep smoking it though, it's strange to me. It has moments of sweetness, sometimes an herbal aroma, occasionally potpourri aroma. I didn't get any bite or moisture and it is an easy tobacco to light. This reminds me of a stronger Sillems Linea Epoque Antique, but this has the deer tongue herbal note. Despite not being able to tell if I like it, I recommend trying Gentleman Caller because it is a very well done blend, nothing wrong with it. Very unique.
Solani - Tropical Flake-639 50g
Wonderful tropical blend
Since the end of McClelland's Tropical I've been searching for a replacement. This blend does just that. I like it more actually. The flavor is just right, but not strong. I get hints of the fruit flavors I'm expecting, and after each puff I want more. There is no bite, no goop, just a nice tobacco with hints of tropical fruit. I used the fold and stuff method without drying time. This is by far my favorite tropical blend now. It's just so subtle and delicious.
Planta - Anno MMXIV (Fruity and Fragrant)
Unless I got a bad batch...
I tried an ounce of this but it had no flavor or aroma. It was dry and harsh. I can't believe that was the intent with this blend. Normally I don't give bad reviews, especially if there are no others, but I finally decided i should.
Sutliff - 706 - Tropical Sunset
Nice flavor
Good fruit flavor that isn't overdone. There seems to be a floral aroma too. I prefer McClelland Tropical but I guess I'll have to learn to like this more now. I will definitely order more.
McClelland - Club Blends: CPCC Caramel Rush 50g
Pretty good
Wife approved aroma, pretty smooth. Nice cream taste, marshmallows and caramel. Overall this was a good blend.
McClelland - 402 - Chocolate Cream
Pretty good
I'll order again. Decent chocolate aroma and flavor, some creaminess. Nothing overpowering and not too wet. If the mood was right this would be a nice blend to have at the ready.
Sutliff - B27 - Smooth Black & Golden Cavendish
Nice and smooth
A good blend, smooth and easy smoking. Nice aroma and a little sweet. Finding an aromatic like this that isn't overly sweet is tough, glad I tried it.
Comoy's - Cask No.2
Great aromatic
This blend is the kind that reminds me of why I smoke a pipe, nice flavor and aroma. I don't smoke it often, it's very nice when I do though.
Peter Stokkebye - PS2 Whiskey
Pretty good
This was pleasant, not overpowering. I didn't notice much whiskey flavor, pretty easy smoking blend though.
Peter Stokkebye - PS24 Nougat
Great!
Added this to my small list of favorites. Excellent all around, a go to blend for most occasions.
Sutliff - Creme Brulee
Very good
Excellent flavor and aroma, very smooth. This is great if you're in the mood for something sweet.
Tampers & Tools - Pipe Nail
Works well
For a dollar you can't go wrong. It does what it should, and somehow looks better than any other pipe nail out there. I should have bought a bunch of these, very handy to have on hand.
Sutliff - Z92 Vanilla Custard
Great flavor
A great blend, lots of flavor and aroma. It burned easily, a tad moist but no troubles. About mid-pipe i get to the sweet spot and just can't get enough. This is one of the few blends that makes me smile.
Gifts - Smokingpipes Poster (2017 Edition)
Beautiful poster!
In not sure which side to show, maybe I should have bought two! Very happy with this poster and hope there is a 2018 version soon.
Sutliff - Pumpkin Spice
Pretty good
This was a nice change of pace. It seemed to have a fair amount of aroma. I didn't notice a lot of flavor, which is probably better than too much pumpkin. Overall this seems like it could be a good seasonal blend.
Cleaners & Cleaning Supplies - Neerup Chamber Brush 2/Bag
Work well
These do a fine job of cleaning, nothing to complain about. I'll probably buy more someday.
Stands & Pouches - Economy Folding Pipe Stand
Works well
These are great, can't believe they are so cheap! Small and medium pipes stay put but diamond shanks will flop around. I sliced a V in the back of a holder for my diamond shank Sasieni and it works fine. For this price, I am thrilled!
Stands & Pouches - Pipe Rest for Car
Works well
Holds a pipe really well and stays put. Perfect for driving.
Larsen - Signature Vintage Mixture 100g
A favorite for sure
Excellent in every way. Definitely one of the top tobaccos that everybody should try.
Cornell & Diehl - Autumn Evening
Well done!
Autumn Evening is one of those blends that I enjoy but not all the time. The flavor and aroma are great, maple and caramel are definitely present and the smokiness is almost in the background. To me, this is a certain kind of moment blend that is very pleasant. I just have to figure out when that moment is. Good blend.
Cornell & Diehl - White Burley
Good burley
Nice mellow flavor, easy to smoke. It was ready to smoke fresh from the mailbox. White Burley is actually the softest feeling tobacco I've ever touched. I know that doesn't matter much but I'm not kidding, it is almost silky. I enjoyed this one.
McClelland - 100 - Tropical
Great flavor
One of the few fruit blends that got it right. Tropical tastes and smells great, definitely adding to my favorites list. Out of the pouch it bites, needs drying time. There is nothing off putting though, just a nice easy tropical blend.
Peter Stokkebye - PS301 Natural Dutch Cavendish
Pleasantly natural
I like this blend, it has a natural flavor with a little sweetness and a little spice. It's not something that is overpowering, just an easy smoke with minimal bite. Occasionally I'll need 1 relight but usually not. Very well done!
Gifts - Smokingpipes Coffee Mug (Black)
My new favorite cup
Everything about this coffee cup is great. I'll buy another in a heartbeat if mine breaks.
Gifts - Smokingpipes Logo Button
Nice little button!
I'm happy with the button. I figured this is a good way to support and promote Smokingpipes. I epoxied the button to my tool cabinet at work so everyone sees it.
Books - The Pipeman's Daily Fare
Great book
I'm not a poetry person but I couldn't resist this book. It turned out to be really fun and relaxing to read. Occasionally I'll read a poem at the start of my lunch break and spend a half hour thinking about it while I eat. A great way to pass the time, very relatable to everyday life and does not require a love of poetry to enjoy. The price is great also.
Cornell & Diehl - Founding Fathers
Love it
Founding Fathers is an easy to smoke blend that isn't harsh, just a hint of sweet fruit and pleasant aroma. It doesn't smoke thick or overpowering like many aromatics I've tried, it's much better in my opinion. A new favorite to add to the list.
Sillem's - Linea Epoque Antique 3.5oz
Great blend
Very nice blend! Nothing offensive or overdone. The aroma is great, taste is pretty good, and one of the easiest aromatics to smoke that I've tried, it doesn't get goopy and is ready pretty much when the tin is peeled open. Definitely worth trying, even though it's a big can to buy. This blend is worth it.
Peter Stokkebye - PS80 Norwegian Blend
Great!
My new favorite shag cut. It is a relatively simple blend, nothing crazy, but it tastes great and has a nice aroma. Very well done blend, I will definitely order more. I should add that I occasionally roll this with filtered tubes when I feel like a cigarette and it's much better than anything store bought.
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Kendal Gold
Nice and smooth
This is nice when I want something mellow and unflavored. It tastes okay and was easy to light.
Sutliff - 500 African Queen
Nice after storing
Originally this seemed average to me but after storing it for a couple months it turned out to be pretty good. It's sweet and smells great. There was no issue with gurgling or staying lit, overall very pleasant. A new favorite for me.
Peter Stokkebye - PS17 English Luxury
Pretty good
Nice blend, it tastes great and smokes well. I bought bulk and it was pretty close to the right moisture level when I got it. I would definitely order more.
Sutliff - 504C Aromatic English
Great blend
To me this is a nice english that occasionally seems aromatic. It's my first time trying this kind of blend and it was great. It was a bit temperamental for me, kind of damp towards the end of every bowl, but not as bad as most aromatic only blends. Sutliff has a pretty good product here if you like aromatic english. Not too strong and not too sweet smelling, good balance.
Peter Stokkebye - PS83 Amsterdam
Pretty good
A strong, spicy blend. Tasted good, smelled good. This blend seemed to go well with my coffee. Very nice!
Cornell & Diehl - Mountain Camp
Great!
Strong, definitely something I'd puff on while working outdoors. Not everyday, but once in a while. It reminds me of a stronger Old Professor with a different kind of nice and nasty aroma and flavor.
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - North Star
Pretty good
Took a chance and ordered some of this. It's great, glad I did. Decent strength, burns well and has decent taste. Nothing unpleasant!
Tampers & Tools - Rubber Pipe Bits (2 pack)
Works well
Easier on the teeth. I use them when I'm driving.

Estate Buying Guide
- ► Whenever fresh pipes are added to the site I get excited and I look at every one of them. My favorite part of the adventure is the estate pipe additions. There are so many more options available than simply different grains and minor differences in the same new models being replenished. I have to admit that I've bought estate pipes elsewhere and was always turned off by what I actually received. The two estate pipes I purchased from SmokingPipes however are different, they were beautiful and clean. Both are in my rotation and in fact are my two favorites out of the 8 pipe lineup. I trust your estate pipes, and yours alone. They are priced very well, are cleaned expertly and the huge assortment of makes that will rarely be available new keeps me interested. My two estate favorites from you are a Chacom Dee Gee smooth bent acorn and a Sasieni 4 dot Ruff Root light. I just barely missed a Luigi Viprati estate pipe you offered. I shouldn't have hesitated, but that's the beauty of the market, there will be more!
