Warped - The Haunting 2oz
Only 1 complaint
This is mindblowing stuff! One of the best cigar blends ever. Cigar leaf is up front where it belongs with virginia harmoniously singing backup. My one complaint? That it was only available in a limited run. I was told it will make a return though. If you love cigar blends, you owe it to yourself to pick up a tin.
Cornell & Diehl - Sun Bear 2oz
Suh-WEEET!!
With the Orientals and the honey topping, this is a really sweet and delicious smoke. And it tastes just like the tin note. Plus, no tonguebite. I'd order again if it was still available; unfortunately I only bought one tin to try. I doubt we'll see another like this batch again. C&D, you guys really hit it out of the park with this one!
Peter Stokkebye - PS80 Norwegian Blend
So basic yet so good!
Just like the write up says, it's just Virginia, burley and a bit of oriental. No other flavoring but it doesn't need it. I'm so impressed with it! The flavor is light and tasty, and the room note is nice - like baked goods. Another win for Stokkebye. I will be getting this again in the future.
Lane Limited - Andullo 1.75oz
Oh. My. God.
I just received my tin of this, and I couldn't wait to try it. I love a good cigar, and this blend sounded amazing. I'm having my first bowl and I am not disappointed in the least! The tin note surprised me; it smells like a dessert! And when you light it up, the cigar and Latakia notes are right there with subtle hints of the topping. I'm really digging this, and I will get it again.
Solani - Aged Burley Flake - 656 50g
I get it now.
I finally got my hands on a tin of this stuff. I now see why this sells out so fast. It is good!! Its a straight-up burley blend, and it tastes so good. And my car smells great after I light a bowl of this. I will definitely get more in the future, and if you haven't tried it yet, you need to.
Cornell & Diehl - Mad Fiddler Flake 2oz
Wow!
THIS is a good one! When you crack the tin, the aroma is like cinnamon raisin toast. The flakes broke apart very easily and I had no issues with lighting. And the tin aroma translates to the flavor. Very tasty smoke! I definitely recommend this one.
Edward G. Robinson - Edward G. Robinson's Pipe Blend 1.5oz
Boring
Just as the title states, I found this blend boring. The tin note is very light. I could smell the small amount of Latakia and a fruity aroma like grape. I guess that's supposed to be the liquor. When I light it up, though, I don't taste much at all. I taste a hint of Latakia and flavorless smoke. And it bit me everytime. I tried to give this blend a chance, but I couldn't justify keeping this around just out of hoping that it would grow on me; I ended up throwing this one out.
Solani - Green Label - 127 50g
Not a fan
Sadly, this is the first blend from Solani that I've tried, and I wasn't too impressed. The tin note is nice. Smells like sweet apples. But when I light it and start smoking it, that apple flavor is lost. The room note is a vague sweet smell with a bit of apple. I also found this gets gloppy in my pipe. It didn't burn down to a fine ash, I just end up with bits of wet tobacco. And tongue bite was was always part of the experience. I smoked most of the tin out of a feeling of obligation, but ended up throwing out the last bit of it. I'm not going to judge the Solani brand based on this one mixture though. I ordered a tin of their aged Burley flake - I've heard a lot of great things about it and I'm looking forward to trying it.
Captain Black - Grape 1.5oz
Nope.
This has the potential to ghost everything around it. The grape smell was so strong that I had to double bag it. When I smelled the tobacco directly, you get a face full of grape and chemicals. I used a cob for this one because I knew it would ghost badly, and sure enough it did. The moisture was ok. When I lit it, i found most of the grape was in the aroma - not so much in the flavor. It bit pretty bad too. I had a few bowls and threw the rest out. There are better aros out there.
Cornell & Diehl - Jolly Old Saint Nicholas 2oz
Better than last year's
Just smoking my first bowl now in a cob. Definitely more flavorful than last year's offering. I immediately taste the ginger which goes well with the pepperiness of the perique. The room note is awesome. Smells great. The orange liqueur is harder to detect. Very subtle. It's a good holiday blend.
Mac Baren - HH Burley Flake 1.75oz
A Pleasant Smoke
I just got my tin. Nice and light, great flavor with no bite. Naturally sweet. A great companion to my morning coffee! I will definitely order more in the future.
Peterson - University Flake 50g
One of the good ones.
Of the Peterson tobaccos that I've had, this is one of my favorite. Great tin and room notes and a very pleasant smoke. For me, the plum comes through to the flavor, though it's very subtle.
Dunhill - My Mixture 965 50g
I get it now.
I just picked up a tin and tried it for the first time recently. I see why so many people like this blend. The flavors seem to shift back and forth between the Latakia and the Orientals with the cav playing in the background. Great blend!
Cornell & Diehl - Habana Daydream 2oz
A Daydream Indeed
Delicious blend. The Latakia and cigar leaf blend so well with the subtle Virginias. I have to restrain myself from smoking too much only because it's so good. A must-try.
Bengal Slices - Bengal Slices 1.75oz
Damn good.
I just got my tin in the mail today, and I should've ordered more when I had the chance. Really enjoyable! The moisture is great, though maybe a touch too moist. The tin note is nice - an English with a touch of anise. And the anise topping goes so well with the Latakia, orientals and cavendish. Highly recommend this blend!
Tabac De La Semois - Le Petit Robin 100g
Love the Shag
I love the shag cut! It looks like kiseru style of tabacco smoked in Japan. The taste and aroma is very similar to La Brumeuse, yet somehow different. I can't quite put my finger on it. But it's excellent, nonetheless! And it is stronger than La Brumeuse. Tabac Manil makes some of the best tabacco around. Everyone must try a Semois blend at least once. C'est trés Bon!
Cult - Blood Red Moon 50g
A great aromatic for those who don't like aromatics.
This is one of the best aromatics I've smoked. Peterson can learn something from these guys. And I get no bite from this blend either.
Peterson - Sunset Breeze 50g
Nope
The tin note is nice. But thats it. I found this blend flavorless with a lot of tongue bite. I gave away a bunch and threw away what was left.
Tabac De La Semois - La Brumeuse 3.5oz
Different... but a very good different
Every point of the write up is true. It's reminiscent of cigar leaf in one puff, yet tastes like an oriental ( I''m thinking smyrna) in another. And also has that warm, grassy burley taste too. A very good smoke! Makes me want to try the other Tabac Manil blends. This is a blend that every pipe smoker should try at least once.
McClelland - Holiday Spirit 2017 50g
Very Nice
I don't usually go for aromatics; I find them to be all sizzle with no steak. But this is probably one of the best aromatics I've ever had. I have yet to be dissappointed by McLelland, and this blend is another good one. Amazing room note and tasty. Makes my car smell great!
Samuel Gawith - 1792 Flake 50g
Very tasty!
This blew my mind in a couple ways. First was the aroma and flavor. The tin note is that of molasses and brown sugar with a nuttiness - which carries through to the smoke. Very tasty indeed! The second way was the nic hit I got from this. This is a strong blend! I actually got sick from it. I now handle this blend with care amd sip it. This tobacco demands respect. This is a blend that all must try, though not recommended for newbies.
Peterson - Sweet Killarney 50g
Meh
The tin note is great. Really nice caramel aroma. But it doesnt really carry through well when smoking. Not too exciting. I would not get this again.
