Missouri Meerschaum - Diplomat Apple Straight
My best-smoking pipe.
This is easily my favorite corn cob pipe that I've tried and honestly my best smoking pipe in general. I've spend far more on briar pipes that don't smoke as well as this. The apple shape fits wonderfully in the hand, the tobacco chamber is on the larger size, and the Danish bit not only provides a smooth and effortless draw but also is the widest of all of the Missouri Meerschaum stems which I personally find very comfortable. Excellent pipe, especially for the price.
Missouri Meerschaum - Mark Twain Straight
Not my favorite cob.
I will say that my particular Mark Twain is easily the best example of drilling and shank placement of all of the cobs I own. Flat bottom, no gaps on either side, draft hole perfectly centered and running straight along the bottom of the bowl. That said, it's just not my favorite. The chamber is tapered just as the sides of the Dublin-shaped bowl are, meaning that the bottom of the chamber is much more narrow than the top. Of all of my pipes this is the only one that I still occasionally have to un-pack and start over because it's so easy to over-pack the bottom. Also the sort of craggy edge around the rim tends to tear through whatever cloth you're using to try and clean the rim.
Missouri Meerschaum - Morgan Polished
Great little pipe.
I was looking for a small pipe that would be comfortable to clench for long periods of time and I wouldn't mind getting a little beat up while doing yard work or driving. This fit the bill perfectly. Very comfortable clencher and it has a surprisingly well-sized bowl for it's size. Hold almost as much tobacco as my straight apple-shaped Diplomat cob.
Pipe Tools & Supplies - Savinelli Magic Cloth
It's a good cloth I guess?
I'm not sure if I just received old stock or what but this is doing absolutely nothing for the finish of my pipe. I've spent hours and hours trying to get some sort of shine on this Savinelli pipe to no avail. I'm going to have to just buy some wax for it. Decent cloth though I guess?
