Rattray's - Buckingham 100g
My everyday tobacco
As a new smoker it takes time to figure out what you like. Buckingham has become my everyday tobacco. Easy to smoke, doesn't bite, and nice strength. I do get the hickory and pick up the there is a slight sweetness from the vanilla. The cinnamon completely escapes me.
CAO - Eileen's Dream 50g
Totally changed my mind!
I opened the tin and sort of appreciated the smell. I had my first smoke and found that it tasted like chemicals. I was not impressed. I had another bowl a week later and it was quite different. The smell and taste settled down. It is now another week later and I'm loving it. No unnatural/chemical taste. Just a beautiful and smooth smoke. No bite even when you push it. I love it and ordered another 3 tins.
Low Country - Hazelnut
On opening the bag I thought this is sweet, too sweet. When smoking it I found it delicious and the hazelnut clearly comes through. Does not smoke hot and gave me a nice nicotine buzz in the second half of the bowl
Savinelli - Brunello Flake 100g
A great tobacco
Am relatively new to smoking the pipe and have been selecting mainly on the strength of the tobacco and reviews. Initially I thought the Brunello was sort of okay, but with careful rubbing out and some maturing I can say I'm really getting it now. Sweet and sour, some grassiness, and a dash of 'pepper & salt. A favourite!!!
Comoy's - Cask No.2
A very nice aromatic
An easy smoke: burns well, no tongue bite, you can taste the tobacco, and the flavouring is there but not overbearing. The port ensures a tangy and non-sweet flavour. An every day smoke.
Peterson - Founders Choice 100g
After searching for the best part of a year I can say that I found a tobacco I really like. I really taste the mango and the tobacco is just the right strength for me. Like all aromatics you need to smoke it slowly.
Savinelli - Armonia 50g
I am fearful
Received the Armonia and read some reviews on the www, since there are only 3 reviews on this site. I have been married for 30 years, but never been so scared. What shall I do: Cellar, throw away, or conquer my fears? I will rerate or ask my widow wife to do this for me. 😜
Cult - Blood Red Moon 50g
The tobacco and aromatic flavours are well balanced. I even get invited to smoke inside. Pack loosely into the bowl and smoke slowly.
McClelland - Craftsbury: Frog Morton 100g
On second thought
I was quite disappointed when I first got it: wet and weak. I now get it out a day before to let it dry out and that improves the experience. I smoked it in an old 'Tyrolean' and for the first time I got to really appreciate it
