Cornell & Diehl - Dark Fired Kentucky
Backwoods delight.
Reminiscent of horse leather and old wood barns. Add just a bit to your favorite English blend, or that blend you just want to use up. Always an improvement. To my memory, the next best thing to Syrian Latakia - better, in that it doesn't drive folks away!

Cornell & Diehl - Engine #99
Certified Go-to
The rep warned me this was a heavy smoke, and to start off with an ounce or two. Why take a promise as a warning? I bought a pound. This may be the first blend I've had that tasted right from the first bowl. To me, it could be heavier, could be stronger, but a good, balanced smoke overall!

Low Country - Natural Virginia & Burley
Basic
Alone, it's pretty harsh, with a serious kick. Mixed with, say, Old Professor it makes for an enjoyable smoke. I bought a pound, and expect to be getting more.

Sutliff - 526 - Old Professor
The essence of nasty
Sutliff has done it. This is the most deliciously nasty blend I've seen. Nasty, in the realm of the crust on a smoked brisket, black dark chocolate, or a good Dutch licorice. There is no perfect blend, but this rates a strong 4+.
