Tasty and Familiar
It's beenó 5 years since I've had Dunhill/Peterson Early Morning Pipe, so a comparison is difficult. But this is very tasty in a familiar sort of way. Really good!
Amphora - Kentucky Blend 1.75oz
Dark Fired without the Nic Hit
Bold dark-fired blends taste great to me, but the nic hit can be debilitating. Amphora Kentucky Blend has all the flavor without the nicotine bomb. I'm not saying zero nic-hit, but it's much more manageable than other blends. Much welcome!
Cornell & Diehl - Autumn Evening 2oz
I crave it
I love the tobacco taste graced with a light maple flavor. I really crave it. My only beef is the name. It's right any time of day in any season.
Prince Albert - Prince Albert 1.5oz
Comfort Tobacco
This is the ultimate comfort tobacco. When you need a break from complexity, bite, and nic-hits, this is the place to land. Whatever topping it may have, it is so light as to be virtually nonexistent. I taste burley, which is fine by me. This is just a plain, pleasant smoke, and for me, a great way to start the morning.

I love this stuff
This is truly lovely English blend. I would recommend it to those looking for a replacement for the original Frog Morton.. I really love this tobacco -- mildly sweet, but you know there is latakia in there. That is comes is bulk is quite a bonus.
Cornell & Diehl - Pegasus 2oz
Yum!
I am liking this immensely. Nice and tangy. I've heard it likened to Haunted Bookshop (which I don't love) without the perique. I do like perique, however. At any rate, this is very tasty stuff.
Peter Stokkebye - PS52 Proper English
Good English
Oddly, Tobaccoreviews quotes Stokkebye as saying this is "the most Latakia of any blend we make." Here it says it's a "medium English blend" and not "as heavy as other English blends." I've also had PS Luxury English, but I'm still not sure if PE is heavier on the latakia, the taste of which I enjoy very much. At any rate, this is a good blend at a good price.
McClelland - 221-B Series: Arcadia 50g
Unsatisfying
I am starting to think that smoking Orientals without latakia is the pipe-smoking equivalent of kissing your sister. While smoking Arcadia and McC2050, I find myself missing the latakia. Not very satisfying. Where's my Pirate Kake?

McClelland - BB - Biteless Burley
Disappointed
I like the taste of burley. (I smoke McC X30 Pressed Burley and Granger.) But I can't taste burley in BB. It feels like an aromatic, but it's not supposed to be one of those. Something stands between me and the tobacco -- a topping -- and I don't like that. I'm disappointed.

My Dad's Favorite
I tried this recently because the blue can was a fixture of my childhood. (I'm 67.) I love it! What I love is the pure taste of tobacco. I sense no flavoring standing between me and the burley. This has become a regular for me.
