G. L. Pease - Windjammer 2oz
Pease you beautiful Wizard
Once again Pease has set the standard high. I really like this blend. I heard described as smelling like fig newtons and I think that’s a really good description as tin notes go. You definitely get a fruity tartness not so much citrusy more berry like. There’s definitely a mild spice a suspect from the Perique and rum. Definitely a strong molasses presence throughout the blend. The Virginias and perique are definitely the stars of the show I do detect a bit of nuttiness from the burly but not much same goes for the black cavendish. If you want a good Virginia perique blend with a bit more flavor this is a fantastic blend great for the summer and the beach! Give it a go you can’t go wrong with Pease the master wizard! 🧙‍♂️

Erinmore - Erinmore Flake 50g
As Virginia flakes go one of the best.
As the title of my review says as far as Virginia flakes go this is probably my favorite and in my opinion one of the highest quality flakes out there. Is it quite as sweet as Wessex red flake or CRF? No. However, this has a good bit of sweetness with a nice nutty note to it from the burley. Also, this flake burns extremely slow slowest I’ve found in a Virginia and cool with a nice mild citrusy note. FYI there is no pineapple topping as Shane points out in the video just a mild citrusy topping. So if your looking for pineapple I’m sad to inform you your not going to find it. This is meant to be a mild citrusy blend in my opinion perfect for summer. If you want a high quality slow burning Virginia with a nutty flavor and hints of citrus that’s sweet but not as sweet as Red flakes or a blend like sunbear look no further. A great one and a blend I definitely recommend it’s at the top of my Virginia rotation.

G. L. Pease - JackKnife Ready Rubbed 2oz
Pretty Good.
I’ve never been a huge DFK fan I prefer light to medium English blends but this is some pretty good shit. It reminds me of BBQ smoky sweet goodness. Is it my favorite blend? No, however this is a good one and worth trying and definitely one for me worth keeping around for an occasional smoke. Definitely a good winter blend for here in FL and one to pair with some good old BBQ and a nice glass of your favorite bourbon. Cheers 🥃

G. L. Pease - Blackpoint 2oz
An Old Favorite
If I had to pick an island tobacco this would probably be it. Fantastic and pretty affordable lots of frequent discounts on here for Pease’s blends. This was my first English blend and it’s still pretty hard to top to me much more flavorful than Presbyterian, EMP, Nightcap, etc. I don’t think it gets the credit it deserves. Creamy, smoky, goodness! The flavor is just unreal. I think this is in my opinion is probably my favorite English in the Pease world I’ve had better then quiet nights, Chelsea morning, Westminster, etc. Give it a try I don’t think you’ll regret it.

Drucquer & Sons - King's Fool 100g
Kings Gold
Kings Gold is a better name for this blend. Absolutely fantastic. This is easily in my top 5 English blends and there’s a lot lol. This is a very unique blend havnt found anything like it. Similar to other pease blends like lochness, Blackpoint, lagonda, etc but a little less Latakia. I think this is a perfect blend for intro into Latakia mixtures. You get the creaminess of a good English but not the overpowering smokiness from other English blends. You also get lots of fruit hints which is very unique also a little more nutty from the burley. To me this is almost like if you took a good red Virginia blend like Carolina red flake with perique and added it with a light English blend like Lochness you would get kings fool. I think this a great blend that even fans who arnt big on Latakia can enjoy because the Virginia and burly are dominant in this one. Pease’s Blackpoint was my first English blend and how I came to love English blends and lochness is a close second also blended by pease but this very well might be my favorite English. There’s definitely nothing like it Pease really is a master blender. Can’t recommend this one enough an absolute masterpiece and I’ve had close to 100 English blends. Give it a go you won’t regret it!
