Mac Baren - Vanilla Flake 16oz
AMAZING vanilla flake
This stuff is great.. I like the 16oz package because the flakes are full length rather than chopped in half for the small tin. Has one of the best tin and room notes I have ever experienced (in a tobacco that smokes wonderfully and you wouldn't think was cased as such). This one is a standby for me when I need to be around others.. as no one can detest this room note!
Orlik - Mellow Mixture 50g
A great standard Danish aromatic
Perfect all day smooth and sweet smoke.
Sillem's - European Blend: Copenhagen 50g
Super Classic Danish Aromatic.. one of the best!
This is truly a classic Danish aromatic. I don't feel there is anything "English" about it at all. It's simply less sweet than many, but has enough sweetness and flavor to let you know it's Danish. Flavor reminds me of sweetened roasted nuts... truly one of the best aromatic smoking experiences available.
Samuel Gawith - Grousemoor 50g
DELICIOUS despite ignorant reviews
This is great, classy stuff. It has a distinctive flavor that apparently some can't handle... it has very little Lakeland essence, so if you are tasting it in this one you must really be sensitive to it and already hate it. This stuff gives off a nice room note and reminds me in flavor and profile a bit of patchouli.
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Ennerdale Flake
didn't know if I would like it
but I love it! Very delicious and classy with no bite. Aroma is the tiniest bit soapy but the best way I can describe the taste in mouth is of real flowers. Give this one a try and I doubt you will regret it... it's high quality.
Vauen - Auenland The Shire Evening Mixture 50g
if you like urinal cakes
If you like urinal cakes and your pipe to be ghosted forever like a urinal cake feel free to try this one!
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Kentucky Nougat
Delicious on the palette with wonderful room note. Very soft flavor and smoke.. Not much else to say besides this is a standby for me and I will buy more and more.
Planta - Sans Souci
A Classic Flavor and Room Note
This is what I think of when I think "pipe tobacco"... a good tobacco flavor, with a room note that lets you know this is the smooth stuff.
Sutliff - Molto Dolce 1.5oz
goopy, sticky mess
WAY too moist, wet, and goopy with an unknown substance that WILL NOT dry out of the tobacco. Leaves your fingers greasy if you touch it, and I nearly ruined a nice tobacco pouch by placing some inside. It left a film that took a while to remove. When you smoke it.. it will crackle, pop, and sizzle with all the artificial wetness and oil in this tobacco. Tastes like straight up chemical after the first couple puffs in my opinion. This stuff is a complete mess in so many ways that I would never buy it again.
Sillem's - Linea Epoque Antique 3.5oz
Honestly the best cavendish based aro I have ever tried. Delectable room note with a great flavor that transfers to the smoker.
Comoy's - Cask No.2
A super Aromatic
Have to agree that I'm glad I tried it. Burns superior, has a great flavor with a mellow note. Leaves the room smelling great and your pipe sweet. I can't say enough good things about this one besides it should be a staple of your pipe regimen.
Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - 1982 Centennial Blend 1.4oz
A Flavorful smoking experience with delightful room note
This stuff smokes great.. and I would compare it with Comoy's Cask no2.. maybe I'm crazy but I like mixing the two together 50/50. It leaves a wonderful room note and gives a mellow, cool smoke when dried a bit and sipped. I'd compare it to Optimum.
Erik Stokkebye 4th Generation - 1957 3.5oz
To those who say it's not aromatic, are you letting it dry a bit before smoking? This stuff comes out of the tin sopping wet. If dried, and enjoyed slowly it provides a cool, relaxing, and flavorful smoking experience. Burns evenly and well, and has a very light hint of casing.. while letting the light Virginias shine.
