Missouri Meerschaum - Ozark Mountain Bent (6mm)
I keep reaching for this pipe
These pipes are amazing. I purchased a bent and straight version of this pipe when I first began the hobby 5 years ago. I've since added several briars worth nearly 10 times the price of these pipes. But for as much as I love my briars, I still find myself reaching for this pipe more than any other. It's light weight, very comfortable to clinch/hang, so easy to smoke it basically smokes itself. And the price can't be beat, especially for the quality you're getting. If I break or lose it, I'd be sad because it's a great pipe, almost like a best friend. But at least it won't break the bank to replace it. If you're a busy pipe smoker with things to do and places to go, you need this pipe. So put down the briars, clays, meerschaums and cobs, and buy one.

Drucquer & Sons - Loch Ness 100g
100% "Nessy" approved
This is my first Scottish blend. I knew I would like it, but wow. Will definitely be getting more of this for the cellar.

Tampers & Tools - 8deco Penner Tamper
Top quality
My wife gave me this tamper for Christmas 2020. I used it once and instantly fell in love with it. I then promptly lost it the very same day. Now I have ash in my pockets. And I'm profoundly disappointed every time I uncap a pen, only to discover it's just a writing tool :(

Cornell & Diehl - Haunted Bookshop Cake 2oz
Best cake ever!
Now I can have my cake and smoke it too.

Sillem's - Black 100g
Not what I expected
My very first reaction when I lit my first bowl of this.... This is Sutliff Z71 Vanilla Custard.... For me the aromatic quality completely takes over. I can't even taste the latakia. English blends are my favorite. I had high hopes for this one. At least I got a cool tin out of it. But, that being said. Even though the aromatic quality is too overpowering for my taste, it is not unpleasant. As far as aromatic tobacco goes, I do enjoy this blend. I've been smoking a pipe for a little more than 3 years now, and my personal journey has led me away from aromatics. I still have to give it 4 stars, as ultimately I am trying to ignore my personal bias and give a fair opinion.

Peterson - 3 P's Peterson's Perfect Plug 50g
Perfect
I love this tobacco cut to a fine shag and smoked in a cob. Very pleasant and satisfying. That being said, I didn't enjoy it very much in a briar. But I enjoy my cobs just as much as my briars, and I love plugs. Not an all day smoke for me, but it never disappoints in my MMs. Still worth 5 stars in my bowl... I mean book.

Wessex - Gold Brick Virginia Plug 100g
Excellent
I recently had the opportunity to try this tobacco. I love Virginia tobacco, and I love plugs, so I was keen to try it when the opportunity presented itself. This is a nice, large, dense plug. One of the finest plugs I've had the pleasure of preparing. I use a Gerber Flatiron knife to cut my plugs, and it works extremely well. The flakes I cut rubbed out very nicely. I like to cut my flakes to a shag or fine ribbon thickness. I had no issues with any aspect of preparation. It is slightly moist. It smoked fine without drying time, but i could see how some people might prefer to give it a few minutes before packing a bowl. Not necessary, but to each their own. In terms of flavor, this is a straightforward Virginia. I don't detect any added flavors. Wonderful tobacco taste, without being too "cigaretty". I found it to be very pleasant and satisfying. The after taste makes me want to smoke another bowl. For me this could easily be an all day smoke. I can't wait for smokingpipes to get more in stock. Will definitely be adding this to my rotation when I am able to get some. For me, this tobacco checks every box. There is absolutely no aspect of this tobacco i don't like. If I could only have 1 tobacco that I have to smoke all day every day, this is it.

Five Brothers - Five Brothers 1.25oz
perfect work blend
Lights easily, stays lit very well. As everyone else said, it's straight up burley. I transitioned to pipes after 26 years of smoking cigarettes. This blend is perfect for satisfying that craving. Doesn't burn hot or bite me. Doesn't mess up my pipe. Allows me to keep my hands free when doing something. In every way, I consider this to be the perfect blend for the "no time for nonsense, i have things to do" kind of guy. Only thing I don't agree with is nicotine content. Don't get me wrong, it most certainly satisfies the craving. Maybe its because I smoked cigarettes for so many years, but I put this right in the middle. Strong enough to satisfy, not strong enough to make my head spin. So pack a bowl and "git 'er dun!".

Grand Croupier - Double Down
Good stuff, but...
I found this blend to be enjoyable, but a little too dry. Some of it is so dry it crumbles. The little bits block the drought hole in my briars. Smokes well enough in my cobs, with the occasional puff of tobacco bits making it all the way through the stem. If I had more I would probably try to bring the moisture level up a touch, but for the small amount I had it was easier to just smoke it in a cob. But moisture level aside, I did very much enjoy this tobacco. For the price, you can't go wrong here. Stock up.

Sutliff - Z92 Vanilla Custard
Mmm custard...
Another decent blend (as far as aro's go). Very nice taste of vanilla, especially on the retrohale. Sweet. I enjoy it as a desert blend. Will be keeping some of this handy for when I want something sweet.

Lane Limited - Black Raspberry
Very nice
Bag note makes me want to eat it. Nice sweet smoke, I get the raspberry of the retrohale. I love it as a desert tobacco, will buy again when I run out.

Low Country - Rum
Not bad
I'm not a big fan or aromatics. The ones I have tried so far are a little mild on the nicotine for my liking. But as far as aro's go, I can't say anything bad about this one. It's a pleasant smoke, the rum flavor is there but not overpowering. Takes the flame well, minimal relights. Doesn't make my favorites list, but I will likely keep a little on hand for when I want something different. For the price it's definitely worth a try if you like rum.

Grand Croupier - Jack Pot
Awful
When I first opened the bag, the smell was amazing. It smelled so good I couldn't wait to pack a bowl and try it. I grabbed my bent Ozark Mountain, packed it and fired it up... I was shocked... It smelled so good in the bag. The taste was completely different. I understand this is a mixed bag of C&D aromatic blends. But there are so many flavors fighting for dominance here, it's impossible for me to get my head around it. All the different blends just kind of jumble together and for me it makes for an unpleasant smoke. I give 2 stars for the "bag note", because it does smell amazing. But as far as the flavor goes, I would rather wrap a ball of this in cloth and dangle it from my rear view mirror as an air freshener than smoke another bowl of it. Of the 14 blends I have in my jar rack, this is the only blend that I couldn't finish the first bowl. I scraped out the bottom half and swabbed my pipe out with some whiskey. I'm just hoping it didn't ghost my pipe. Thankfully I only have an ounce of this, so I won't be too upset if I end up throwing it in the trash.

Grand Croupier - Boneyard
Beyond expectations
The bag I got is a little latakia heavy. I love it, will definitely be buying more.

Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Sweet Coconut Twist
Mixed feelings
I found this to be a pleasant smoke. I sort of get a smell of coconut from the bag, but no coconut taste. Sort of earthy, at times i find it sort of leathery. Overall very enjoyable. But, it is very hard to keep lit. My first bowl I allowed to dry about 30 minutes, and I had to keep the flame to it almost constantly. The second bowl I allowed to dry all afternoon. It burned slightly better, but even with near constant puffing it still required A LOT of relights. Probably best enjoyed indoors, as adding wind to the equation would make this an extremely frustrating tobacco to smoke outside.

Cult - Blood Red Moon 50g
Over hyped
The tin note is very strong and pleasant. Almost want to eat this tobacco it smells so good. The flavor is definitely there, but I feel like this blend is VERY over hyped. At the end of the day, it's just a cherry tobacco. Nothing unpleasant about it, but it doesn't really stand out either IMO. Glad I have it, and I will enjoy it to the last bowl. But it's not that special.

Cornell & Diehl - Epiphany 2oz
My favorite so far
I gave the bulk version 5 stars. But the tin is even better. It's more flavorful than bulk, and has an aroma and flavor note that I don't get from the bulk version. I'm not sure what it is, but there is that little something extra that kicks the tin up to 6 stars for me.

Lane Limited - LL-7
Not bad
A good smoke. A little mild for my taste, but in all fairness I haven't had an aro yet that isn't very mild. Like the other aro's I have tried so far, the tin/room note is great, the taste is pleasant, but I feel like I need to chain smoke it to get the nic kick I want.

Peter Stokkebye - PS402 Luxury Twist Flake
Excellent
Great quality smoke when rubbed out. Near perfect when using the fold and stuff method.

Cornell & Diehl - Dreams of Kadath 2oz
Wow
I get a strong smell of plums from the plug. Within seconds after removing it from the jar to cut off a flake, the entire room smells like plums. Even my wife noticed how strong the aroma is. Very pleasant. The smoke has a nice dark, fruity sweetness. Also a little spice. At times I feel like I'm getting a sort of dark rum taste, but not often, and not overpowering. I have only been smoking a pipe for a couple months, so I haven't yet learned to pick out individual tobacco varietals, or their specific nuances. But even though I am a newbie in this hobby, I really enjoy this tobacco. It has made my favorites list, and I will definitely be keeping a plug or 2 of this around.

Cornell & Diehl - Pegasus
Good blend
This is a pleasant blend to smoke. To me it tastes a lot like a cigarette, but not quite exactly like it. Being a 25+ year/pack-a-day+ smoker making the switch, I find this blend satisfying. It really hits the spot when I get that craving for a cigarette. For me this is a good thing, as it makes switching a little easier. Also, I have to comment on the volume of tobacco. You get A LOT of tobacco for your money with this one. Of the 9 blends I have so far, this is the first one I have found that I had to stuff the tobacco into a 750ml wide mouth Mason jar. Just 4 oz and my jar is packed to the top.

Sutliff - Revelation Match
Needs to be sipped
After more time with this blend, I had to change my review. When sipped this is a very nice blend. It has a pleasant sweetness, burns well, and is an all around satisfying smoke. I will probably keep some of this on hand.

Cornell & Diehl - Epiphany
My favorite so far
I am new to pipe smoking. Making the switch from cigs (26 years, pack+/day full flavor). I ordered 2 oz of this in bulk and a 2 oz tin for comparison in my first order. So far this is my favorite blend out of the 4 blends I ordered. Nice satisfying smoke. Smooth. It's not like smoking a cig, but it really hits the spot for me when I get that cigarette craving. Having compared the bulk and tin versions side by side, for me the bulk is 5 stars, and the tin version is even better. The tin version has a stronger aroma and flavor, but the price of the bulk version makes up for it. Will definitely be ordering more. I highly recommend giving this blend a try.
