So, my tastes are as follows: 90% English, 5% VaPer, 5% "others". One the occasion that I get a hankering for a VaPer, THIS is the type of blend I want. Not one of those blends that make you wonder if there's actually any Perique in it, but a front and center blend. One the occasion that I cheat on Lady Latakia, I want to be sure it's worth it. That's where this blend comes in. Spicy, deliciously flavorful and wholly satisfying.

Nice, Mellow English
I'm an English blend guy. I've smoked a lot of English blend, and I can tell you that this blend, is right up there. Nothing is particularly forward with this, but all components meld nicely to make a flavorful, mellow blend. this is one that truly fits the "all day smoke" label. For the price it's a no-brainer. And if you ARE a fellow English lover, when this goes on sale, you'd be a fool not to load up.

Without risk of being accused of hyperbole, I can categorically say that, if I were forced to only smoke Pirate Kake for the rest of my life, I'd be absolutely fine with that. This is truly a 5-Star blend if I ever tasted one. It smokes SO smoothly, and has so much flavor, it's an absolute joy in every draw. It's my go-to comfort smoke. I sit at work, thinking about smoking a bowl when I get home. I have a Savinelli 320 and a Peterson System Standard that I ONLY smoke Pirate Kake in. Yes, this blend deserves that much respect. Amazing blend.
Captain Earle's - Ten Russians 2oz
No joke
Just so you're aware, unless you like VERY full english style blends, this may not be for you. This tobacco is no joke. I'm a Latakia hound, so for me, this blend is right up there with C&D's Pirate Kake and Da Vinci blends in terms of full Latakia flavor. I'm a professional smoker outside of my pipe hobby, so I don't get "nic hits", so I can't comment on that part, but the flavor and robustness of this blend isn't for the faint of heart. Delicious.
Drucquer & Sons - Levant Mixture 200g

Really enjoy this blend. None of the compnent parts goes up front to drive the bus, but mingle deliciously, complimenting each other perfectly. To my palate, it's like one of my favorite english blends of all time, Peter Stokkebye Blend #52 "Proper English"albiet a tad more forward on the orientals (but again, not dominating the blend at all. A great all day blend for me.
Daughters & Ryan - Ryback 16oz
Nice smoky tobacco
Pleasantly surprised by this, at the price. Mix with "Three Sails" to make a delicious smoke when rolled in Rizla Licorice rolling papers.

Disappointed
After all the rave reviews, and the name of the blend being appealing, I decided to pull the trigger. And I'm glad I only got 2oz. Where's the perique ? As a professional smoker of all types of tobacco, I can tell you, this is just like smoking RYO tobacco, but in a pipe. Just tastes like cigarette tobacco. Back to my robust English blends I go...
Cornell & Diehl - Da Vinci 8oz
Delicious
The inclusion of Virginia, omitting the orientals makes this blend different enough that you'll want this + Pirate Kake in your life if, of course, Lady Latakia has stolen your heart, as she has mine. This blend is utterly delicious, please C&D, make this available in bulk.
