Cornell & Diehl - Sun Bear Black Locust 2oz
It’s 10pm EST…
… and tins are still available. I don’t know what you people are crying about.
Cornell & Diehl - Sunday Picnic 2oz
Izmir!
The combo of the Izmir and the Virginia/Perique with no top note is a winner. It’s soft, bready, yeasty, lemon, hay. It’s a winner.
G. L. Pease - Key Largo 2oz
Summer Blend #1
More mellow CT cigar than prior tobacco. The Latakia comes though nicely along with the red Virginia. A full flavor summer time out doors in the sun with a glass of rum blend. Creamy, cedar, herbal, woody, slightly sweet goodness. If you like a CT cigar in the summer this jam is for you.
Cornell & Diehl - Opening Night 2oz
Hidden gem
Tin note smells like fermented hay, honey, vegetative matter, and toasted barley. It’s wonderful. The flavor is a lot of the same. Sweet and tangy. What a hidden gem.

Best Cherry Aro
Best Cherry aromatic period. Multiple bowls in a sitting with no tongue bite. Cherry flavor you can taste. Well done.

It is what it is
It’s an aromatic. As far as aromatics go this one is the best selling one for a reason. I generally don’t like them either but when the time calls for one this one is great.
CAO - Moontrance 50g
Virginia & Cavendish
I have no idea why someone said this was a cigar leaf blend. It is most certainly not. It’s a moist Virginia and Cavendish aromatic pipe tobacco. It’s rather ok. There’s an alcohol, fruit, and vanilla topping that is very apparent. Would recommend drying out a bit.
Cornell & Diehl - Bijou 2oz
Wonderful as is…
… but with 10 years in it I’m sure it’s magnificent. Grassy Virginias with slight hay fermentation and slightly sour earthy woody spicy vegetative orientals, a dash of honey for a tad of sweetness. This is delicious.
Peter Stokkebye - PS403 Luxury Bullseye Flake
Vaper Dream
The cavendish mellows this out a bit as it’s not as harsh or peppery as other vapers. Will greatly improve with time. Buy a pound or more and pick at it over the years or stove it. Get it while it’s cheap. It’s a bargain.
Lane Limited - HGL
It’s simple but good
RLP6 is a fine aro on its own. Add some Latakia to it? Yes! It’s pretty nice. A sweet and smokey affair. A nice departure from the usual bulk aromatics. Similar to the blend from a particular cellar we once knew but not quiet as this lacks the Virginia taste. But it might scratch that itch. It’s good.
Sutliff - Burma Road
Ribbit ribbit…
… you know what I’m saying. Seriously give it a try. It’s very similar. A sweetened Virginia forward blend with a pinch of Latakia. Reminds me of a other blend I once knew…
Tampers & Tools - Czech Pipe Tool
It’s a Czech tool…
… every pipe smoker has a half dozen laying all around and you should too.
Crowned Heads - Four Kicks Corona Gorda
Outstanding
Not too many cigars I’ll stick a tooth pick in and smoke to the end but this one I do.
Peter Stokkebye - PS400 Luxury Navy Flake
Can’t beat it
And for the price. Come on. Buy a pound or two and jar it. Stove some of it too. Even better. It’s a blend I’ll always have on my shelves. Grassy hay sweet tang just wonderful Virginia flakes with a pinch of perique to keep it interesting. It’s top of the list for a reason
Mac Baren - Navy Flake 3.5oz
It’s well made but…
… not for me. It’s a heavy burley navy flake. I know a lot of people love it but not I. Beautiful flakes, wonderful aroma.
Ashton - Aged Maduro Pyramid
Morning maduro
If you want leather oily dark cigar with your coffee but don’t want the nicotine this is it. Absolutely stellar. It does have a much milder flavor than most other dark cigars however it’s a great stick for new smokers to maduros or if you are a morning smoker with coffee.
Avo - Classic Piramides
Different CT
There’s a savory tea element to this. It’s damn good. It’s a milder CT cigar I would enjoy later in the day with a good drink. Lots of nuance flavors here for a Connecticut. Definitely will buy again
Ashton - Cabinet Selection Belicoso
A go to CT cigar
A milder Connecticut cigar with a bit more zest and a bold flavor. Mild enough for morning coffee and just as good in the evening with and drink. Always one of my favorites. If you’re a fan of mild to medium nic cigars this is a must try
G. L. Pease - Key Largo 2oz
One of the best
This is like smoking a mild to medium Connecticut cigar. The cigar leaf is dominant and the Virginia’s add a nice sweetness. The orientals add some sour and the Latakia is in the background. Has a cigar like aftertaste, however much milder than if I smoked a cigar. Full of flavor absolutely an amazing blend for summer. Doesn’t bite even have pushed hard. If you like cigars and pipe tobacco this one is a must try
G. L. Pease - Quiet Nights 2oz
Flawless English
Tin note is a leather, woody, musty smell. I found this benefited greatly from being rubbed out very fine and let sit out to dry. After some drying it lights fine. Latakia is the main eminent. A dark musty leather smoky flavor. This is what I would be smoking at 221b Baker Street deep in contemplation over a case. There is a bit of sweetness to this too but not enough where I would say this is a sweet tobacco. It makes smoking it a pleasure. I do get some mild tart, grassy hay Virginias in this too. No bite or harshness, retrohale tingles the nose but the extra spice and fermented bread notes are worth it. A get some coco, woody, spicy notes too. Very enjoyable. Short and pleasant after taste.
G. L. Pease - Windjammer 2oz
Great unique navy blend
Tobacco is in broken apart flakes. Very nice presentation. Tin note is a pungent odor of Virginias and perique. Fruity, fermented, sour hay, with a dried fruit and cheese aroma. Packed and lite well enough. Moisture level seems just fine. The perique is definitely noticeable and adds a dried fruit earthy floral element to the grassy tangy Virginia. The cavendish and rum tones it down and makes for a surprisingly smooth smoke for a navy blend. Defiantly going to be a regular in my rotation for a while.
Sutliff - Molto Dolce 1.5oz
The Aromatic Tobacco
It’s THE aromatic tobacco. Virtually no nic hit, almost no tobacco flavor, just creamy sugar and honey. Smoke wet, listen to it crackle, sit back and enjoy. Room note is fantastic.
Lane Limited - HGL
RLP6 with Latakia
One of my favorite blends. It’s the delightfully aromatic and flavorful vanilla and chocolate caramel RLP6 with smoky, musty, herbal Latakia added. Complements the tobaccos very nicely. It’s the best Lane blend they make.
Cornell & Diehl - Apricots and Cream 2oz
Sweet aromatic
Very wet similar to Molto Dolce. A sweet treat with a fruit undertone. Not much tobacco flavor except cavendish. If you’re a fan of aromatics I would try.
Amphora - Original Blend 1.75oz
Classic
Natural flavors throughout. The Kentucky adds a bit of spice. The topping is very light almost unnoticeable. A very good natural tobacco experience. The pouch is even nice, it’s luxurious... seriously it should be a must try.
Peterson - Sweet Killarney 50g
Caramel and butter
A very caramel and buttery sweet aromatic. Pretty one dimensional but I enjoyed it.
Sutliff - 504C Aromatic English
Decent cross over
The smoke is more of an aromatic than English. Meaning it is sweet and mild like a cavendish blend. An aromatic with a dash of Latakia in it. A mild natural sweetness can be tasted from start to finish. The topping is noticeable especially the first quarter of the bowl and it’s very enjoyable. The Latakia is noticeable but it’s a very subtle offering of a nice smokey and herbal tone. The burley gives it an earthy woody mellow depth. There’s some grassy bread in here too. There’s a topping that I can’t place but I’ll say it’s a wine or brandy. Really mellow and smooth retrohale.
Sutliff - B30 Chocolate Mousse
Mild Cavendish Aromatic
It’s a mild chocolate heavy cavendish aromatic. It was decent for what it was. If you’re looking for chocolate Cavendish you found it. Very mild and easy going with a great room note
Sutliff - D54 Chocolate Supreme
Best chocolate aromatic
This is the best chocolate aromatic I’ve tried. Has good natural burley and Virginia flavors , enough to satisfy. A chocolate flavor that is defiantly noticeable. The room note... melted chocolate . Fantastic.
Sutliff - Creme Brulee
Molto Dolce...
.. *ah um* Yeah this is delicious. This is MD with less topping. It tastes identical after the first 1/4 of the bowl. This blend is an aromatic lovers dream. Honey, vanilla, sugar, sooooooo goooood.
Sutliff - Honey & Chocolate
Honey and chocolate
Bag smells as you might have guessed, chocolate and honey. Smells good. Tobacco is moist but not SMD wet. Let dry for an hour. Packed and lit ok. Taste is chocolate and not much else. It’s a very sweet heavy chocolate flavor. Unfortunately this blend bit my tongue hard. I tried to use a balsa filter pipe and the filter got saturated with moisture. It’s a very chocolatey aromatic, and if you want a sweet heavy chocolate smoke this is might be it. Outside of that I don’t feel that this had much else to offer me. Might be good for you but it wasn’t for me. My colleague, who smoked this with me, liked Sutliff’s Chocolate Supreme better and I agree. It’s not as heavy of a chocolate aromatic as Chocolate Honey. If that’s what you want then try this for sure. I’ll return to this again after some time and see if my opinion changes. Oh room note is literal melted chocolate. Delicious.
Mac Baren - Navy Flake 3.5oz
Classic Navy
This is a classic navy flake. The rum tones down the blend and adds just a bit of sweetness. A grassy tart hay taste from the Virginias dominates the flake, but the burley and cavendish Balance the blend out nicely. A classic navy flake.
Cornell & Diehl - Autumn Evening 2oz
Wasn’t for me
Some people love this blend but it wasn’t for me. A dark, almost burnt flavor. I put it away and maybe in a few years the Virginias will mellow out. This gave me tongue bite no matter how I smoked it.
Mac Baren - Vanilla Cream 3.5oz
Wonderful aroma
A decent Danish aromatic. Natural Virginia tobacco flavors with a hint a vanilla. You’ll enjoy decent tobacco flavors and those around you will enjoy the smell.
Peterson - Flake 50g
Classic VA Flake
What else is there to say? Grassy hay tart sour Virginia flake. It’s beautiful. Mild, easy going, all day VA flake.
Sutliff - Molto Dolce 1.5oz
The King of Aromatics
This is soaking wet and will never dry, it can be smoked wet. It smells like heaven and tastes like it too. Vanilla honey and sugar. The best aromatic ever. Now a days I put Latakia in this and it’s so good.
Cornell & Diehl - Apricots and Cream 2oz
Sweet cavendish with a topping you can taste.
A goopy wet cavendish. It’s sweet and the topping is flavorful. Not my cup of tea but if you like big sweet aromatics I would give this a go.
Gawith Hoggarth & Co. - Kendal Black Cherry 50g
A lite cherry Cavendish
It’s a pretty mild cherry cavendish. It’s wet, I let it dry a bit. Smokes well enough. Notes of a dark cherry. Not a cherry bomb but enough to let you know it’s there. Room note is very nice.
Mac Baren - Dark Twist 3.5oz
Natural tobacco flavor
Complex and natural flavored coins. Mildly sweet from the maple and cavendish, a little dark spice from the Kentucky, lots of Virginia. A wonderful rich Danish tobacco. Highly recommend.
Lane Limited - 1-Q
Classic
My first pipe tobacco. It’s a classic. Super easy all day smoke. Soft fluffy ribbons and smell of oatmeal raisin cookies. Smokes easy. Can bite if smoked too fast, it’s an aromatic after all. Mellow and mild vanilla flavors. Total classic.

RLP with Latakia
RLP6 is one of my favorite aromatics. Throw some savory smokey Latakia in it? Yes! It’s a great mild and easy going aromatic cross over whatever blend. The Latakia tones down the topping but it works in harmony. A wonderful and go to blend...

Classic Aromatic
I don’t smoke many aromatics but when I do RLP-6 is a safe bet that it’ll be in my pipe. Tastes how it smells. Like chocolate, caramel, and vanilla. It’s a classic.

All Day English
The text book definition (or so I’m told) of a traditional English blend. Rather mild in taste and strength but a wonderful Virginia forward flavor. The Latakia and orientals are a nice condiment. The perfect beginner or all day English. This blend is like a ice tea. Nothing special, but sometimes you just want a glass of no BS iced tea. Satisfying.
Seattle Pipe Club - Plum Pudding 2oz
Lots of Hype...
... and for good reason. This might be the perfect Balkan blend. It’s naturally sweet, smokey, savory, all in one. Slow burning and perfectly pressed. If you haven’t tried this you owe it to yourself to. Medium body and strength but full on flavor.
Sutliff - Burma Road
Great crossover blend
This is a pretty straightforward cavendish Virginia aromatic. A wonderful vanilla note off the first puffs. A nice sweetness, some grass, and hay from the Virginia with the cavendish and topping mellowing out and sweetening the blend. What makes this sweet mellow blend stand out is the pinch of Latakia. It’s not a lat bomb and the Latakia takes a back seat roll but it’s definitely there in a supporting roll. It turns an otherwise ok aromatic into something more enjoyable by adding some flavorful smokiness.

Sutliff - Count Pulaski
One of my Favorites
This is a strange one for me. I can see why this is a polarizing blend. It’s not like a savory English but rather has a sweeter and earthier smokey taste. It’s heavy on the burley which gives it a mellow earthy woody molasses quality but it also has that latakia herbal smoke that is very noticeable and on the retroale the Virginia. The topping is evident and I find it to be quite nice. It’s a sweet, relaxing, and creamy type of smoke, more complex than I would think. This blend has grown on me to by a go to.
