Previously known as an A&C Peterson blend, No.150 Mark Twain now flies under the Sutliff banner. A Danish-style aromatic, this mix of black Cavendish, Burley, and Virginia is known for its creamy aromatic flavors and mellow strength, making for an easy smoke and a pleasing room note.
For the vaginae that can't handle full flavored aeros, this is neutral ground. Very pleasant smoke that has a hint of laziness in it. Laying in a hammock while reading a good book preferably by Samuel Clemens is the epitome of smoking pleasure! Very ... He posed for ads for Players Navy Cut and Prince Albert. Sadly, he’s not here to pose for a Sutliff ad. I’ll bet he’d be flattered and not admit it. I’ll bet he’d like this tobacco blend. Seems like a good choice for those times when you’re not sure about the next bowlfull. A little sweet, a little smoky. Easy to deal with. Could become an old friend pretty quickly. A nice blend that reminds me of one of the Lane Limited blends and or Carolina Deluxe. It’s a Mild darkish chocolate flavor, probably including some vanilla, and I think a small touch of a fruity berry like flavor. Its tied together in an unoverpowe... I however add that although the name Mark Twain is what caught my attention, I could have sworn he smoked English Blends. … Could be wrong.

I finded perfect for me. This aromatic tobacco is not sticky and its very fresh. Soft flavor and burns very well. Very interesting. I pretty sure that this tobacco will be part of mi cellar for long time!.
Love the aroma unlit. Burns to a fine dry powder. Not harsh or hit burning. Not as much flavor as aroma. Might be able to tone down a sweet blend with it? Want to smoke a few more bowls before I pass judgement.
It's pleasant and it's mild-- not as sweet as the pouch note suggests. The Mark Twain blend reminds me of a nougat/amaretto mixture I used to blend years and years ago and its main strengths are a very nice room note and not a lot of thought. This on... I just got this and I can't say I've ever been so impressed by a flavorful tobacco. I'm usually a very sweet Aro guy. As a huge Mark Twain fan, I was searching for a blend that was of Samuel Clemens taste when I ran across this tobacco. Needless to say I bought an ounce simply out of curiosity. I blend 28 of my own mixtures which I label from 1899 - 1927 so I know a... Read More little about blending. I have to say that this blend is one of the best blends I have ever purchased pre mixed. Very well done mixture of sweet Virginia along with the heavy, thicker smoke producing of the Dark Cavendish. This blend even smells great right out of the jar. The taste is smooth but strangely bold. I had to have more so I bought a whole pound so that it would ferment in a larger jar. The Virginia grows sweeter with age, so the longer you can age this stuff the better it gets. Highly recommend this mixture for a late night relax on the porch. You will not be disappointed. I'll admit, I got it because I'm a Twain fan and because of the overall good reviews.
Its not a strong blend. It has a good mild taste and is an easy smoke.
Tasted much better after jarring for a few weeks.
Most enjoyable blend.Smooth and consistent all the way to the end with no surprises as in where's the taste I started out with. Great taste and aroma.Almost let back into the house with this one.Highly recommended. Will buy lots more.

Did this used to be marketed (or labeled) as MT150? I remember it having almost an anise or licorice flavor. It was my "go to" in my early days of smoking (30 years ago). I think I'm going to get some and see if it brings back any memor... Read Moreies... Read Less
It's actually fitting that this will be my first review here: This was the first aromatic blend that I bought for myself at a local pipe shop some 20 years ago when I started smoking. Read Mores) this one seemed to get heavy traffic (at least the jar was one of the cleanist) and I really fell in love with the smell and the look of the cut immediately. Still can't really put my finger on it.. Nutty, Bourbony.. hint of cherry cordial and caramel.. hmm. Very mild danish- I should warn that it has a sidestream smell that may have some odd notes from time to time, though maybe that's just me. It's still, for me, a cut above many of the other comparable bulkblends- a true jewel in the sutliff cap. Anywho, I'd forgotten all about it for years and years under other more prominant blends until I wandered into a pipe store that ended up being a place that had been opened by a former employee of that same former store! So, I am another customer that called up SP to ask about it and I'm a bit thunderstruck to now see it here. Good customer handling guys, for sure! Read Less
