m smoking it, I'm thinking "This could sure use some perique, or maybe some DFK to kick it up a notch". It is obviously made with some good quality leaf (which is why I gave it 2.5 stars instead of 2), but I guess my preferences lean more towards a stronger flavor profile. Read Less

I really enjoy this tobacco and have gone through a ton of it! It just works for me - but I prefer Virginia tobacco anyway. I wish I could learn to like it less - when I have it around I smoke a tin a day! And I thought Macanudo's were expensive!

might hit the spot. Very, very heavy on the hay-and-grass, but the baking bread one comes to expect from Virginias is patently absent. It is a bit harsh at the top of the bowl, so sip slowly or she’ll bite. By about mid-bowl, however, it does mellow out quite a bit, becoming remarkably smooth. The finish is slightly bitter, but it does burn down to a very fine ash with almost no dottle.
It’s probably a straight-Virginia lover’s dream, but, even so, I have had some better Virginias. It’s good but it does not warrant almost $17 for a tiny tin of the stuff. Try it at least once so you can see what Tolkien was raving about, but it will most likely not become your daily puff. Read Less

Smoking this it tasted “familiar” and “comforting” as someone newer to classic straighter Virginia blends this was a warm welcome to the variety. Bready, grassy toasty, cool smoking and tasty from the first light to last puff. Will be buying again!

This is the VA that finally made me understand why so many smokers love a straight VA. Now, even when I go back to inferior VAs, I can appreciate them more because of this tobacco. Grassy, sweet, floral and fruity.

I live in a rural area and as a young man would help put up hay during the summer. If you want to know the smell/taste of a fresh mown field of hay, this is you smoke. Smooth and pleasant.

对我来说，和切片相比切割好的这款圆盒蓝绞盘更容易装填到烟斗里，但也许同样是因为切割好的缘故，和切片在某些细微的环节会有微妙的不同？我不知道。但单纯从味道去仔细衡量比对，确实觉得它比切片稍逊毫厘，当然也不能排除先入为主的个人情结。

Based on Navy cut i wanted to try not sure what to expect. It was slightly sweet hay, summer vibes even in 50 degree weather. And that continued through the whole bowl. It is simple smoke, but a pure one

It’s a good simple tobacco. No frills. Pack a pipe sit back and relax. Just enjoy the natural flavor of these Virginia’s.

I find the bowl gets hot, but that doesn't make it "bitey" I never have tongue bite from this tobacco and it burns well and evenly.
