This aromatic ribbon is comprised of Virginia and Black Cavendish. The description mentions a “unique island rum flavor”.

I sampled it with four bowls smoked in a Missouri Meerschaum Huck Finn, which is filterless. *

Second blend in and I fear may be a sign of things to come , particularly at the bottom of the ratings pool where it’s just rife with Virginia / Black Cavendish aromatics and toppings.

Bag aromas : raisins, red wine , and oddly something that makes me think of Play-Doh!

The cut was consistant, uniform, and it was springy and pliable but dried well enough for smoking with no relights.

It’s sweet. At moments the sauce goes away and th Virginia pokes through. Not sure why but I was expecting something like Navy Flake with training wheels - but it’s not that.

I packed second bowl tighter - hard, on purpose. Richer , fuller smoke cloud (think jackass teen with a vape in the mall food court ala 2013). Tighter pack brough out the raisin goodness. FWIW , I think good funky rums have a raisin taste, too , so I guess it’s spot on.

As I rode home from work I had two more bowls. In the end it’s a decent enough aromatic, if that’s your bag. I can take or leave most of them, but this one wasn’t too out of line. Honestly it’s been so long since I’ve had Borkum Riff that my mind kinda was saying “this is that” but who knows.

Warning - if you push it , it will get hot on you - and the flavor will turn to ashy hot wind.

This is one you take easy, because it’s delicate to a degree and a rum punch best sipped, not slammed.

My Rating : 2 - It Is ok, but I wont likely miss never having It again , but I’ll finish what I have.

Es un tabaco no malo pero no sabe a Ron sabe a tabaco de calidad .y se consume muy rápido.Se carga muy bien en la pipa .Cuando te quieres dar cuenta se termino.

Ordered this after reading the description and having my curiosity piqued. Overall not a bad blend. The note from the bag (I ordered the bulk version) is delicious. And that flavor is present for the first quarter of the bowl or so. But like many arro blends it burns off after a time. However unlike many other aero blends once the flavoring is gone you're left with a decent tobacco flavor. C&D must use a decent leaf as the basis for this blend. A friend gave me a Bowl at our pipe club.I couldn't believe how great it was.The next day I was still thinking about it. I called a friend that works at the tobacco store,and asked if he could bring me a half pound after work and he did.I had a hell of a toothache on Sat,so about 2 pm I turned on my turntable and put some paul simon on and starting drinking Woodworth reserve,and smoking NOT this blend. I smoke and drank until 10 pm.I decided to see if smoking pipes carried it,and I was shocked when I read the description...Turns out that 8 oz I got from my friend came from a B&M store where they blend it himself.this stuff is not the same it's terrible....Read More
