Inspired by the Christmas carol penned in 1857, the first Christmas carol written in the US to achieve widespread popularity, "We Three Kings" is a delightful Yuletide tobacco offering from C&D, alluding to the magi who traveled to the nativity bearing exotic spices and treasures. One part black Cavendish is met with equal measures of the "Three Kings" of red Virginia, bright Virginia, and Katerini Turkish, transforming this blend into true holiday magic with flavors of allspice, cinnamon, and vanilla.
let me just say that C&D is a love or hate relationship for me, some of their blends are beyond amazing, and some are like.. did you guys even try this before you tinned it up?? this one, is very very very light on the aro side, just a hint of ci... Read Morennamon, and a very very light clovey exhale, yet the vanilla comes through at the end of the bowl, this one has much more of a pure tobacco taste to it than it is an aromatic, it is very good and smooth though, for a non aro guy who wanted some holiday flavor profile, this would be the perfect tin, i do enjoy this baccy, but if your ordering this i would also suggest getting a tin of McCellands holiday spirit, that is pretty much my all time fav. just a suggestion. buy this baccy? yes! but it is not a flavor bomb by any means. As someone who smokes a lot of OTC blends and Virginia flake I shy away from aromatics as a rule but this sounded interesting. To my surprise I found that I absolutely love this stuff. C&D scored a homerun with this one.
This was an interesting smoke. The intitial tobacco flavors were very mild. What actaully hit me when smoking were the spices and the lingering after taste they had. That after-taste stayed with me for a while after the smoke was finished.

Echoing what others have said about this blend, it's very light on the added flavorings, and that's what I love about it. The Virginia gives it substance, but the mixture of Katerini and Black Cavendish really stands out and makes for a great flavor ... Read Morecombination. Its allspice-style topping adds a nice dimension of flavors—none of that funny aromatic aftertaste (I'm very sensitive to those). Tin and room notes are reminiscent of spice cake or gingerbread that's just come out of the oven. It also has a fair amount of nicotine for an aromatic; about a 4 or 5 out of 10. Excellent blend for the holidays, or just to switch things up a little. Typically I hate these sort of blends, but I liked it so much that I bought a half pound! What's left of my first tin has aged noticeably as well. Read Less
Ive had much better products from C and D. Not knocking this blend too hard, but I was expecting much better from what I read about this. It did not have the creamy smokey flavor I was hoping. Light to medium aromatic, probably needs more time in the tin. Creaminess, vanilla and very light baking spice notes. Medium strength towards bottom of bowl. Worth a try, but somewhat disappointing to my palate.
Im typically not one for aromatics, but I couldnt put this down. I can not think of any other way to describe it- It tastes like Christmas. The Tobaccos shined alongside the flavoring for a bowl of holiday cheer.
One of C&D's excellent lightly aromatic blends; possibly the best of the lot. It'll sit well with nearly anybody who smokes a pipe, and the room note will also please those who don't. The Virginia's just right (no bite), but the Katerini are what makes this stuff stand out from other Cavendish blends; it imparts a natural spiciness. Additionally, C&D's Black Cavendish is the best I've ever had. It's just a tiny bit sweet, and that's a hard line for a blend to walk. We Three Kings is excellent stuff. Three types of tobacco, each fit for a king, all in one tin. Although its aromas go very nicely with the Christmas theme, I'll happily smoke it year-round. Read Less
I'm not really an aro smoker, but I thought I might like this because it's mostly Virginia's and Turkish. It smokes cool and dry, with a slight creamy texture to the smoke. The tin note is heavy on the vanilla, but I get more cinnamon in the flavor.... Read More Still, there's not all that much flavor here; it's tastes kind of like a cigarette, but a little sweet and with vague cinnamon and vanilla notes. Overall it's not that interesting to me, but it's a smooth dry smoke that might be nice with a cup of coffee or to smoke while doing something that prevents you from focusing on the tobacco. The tobacco was easy to load and pack and took the initial light well, staying lit through the majority of the smoke, although I did have to relight midway through the bowl, but this is meant to be smoked slowly in order to avoid any bite. The taste was mild and slightly sweet with a hint of vanilla and a touch of spiciness on the initial charring, but progressed into a more spiced, almost ginger like note by mid-bowl. Towards the end of the smoke there was an almost fresh baked bread taste that was detectable with just a hint of the sweetness coming through. The room note according to the wife was warm and pleasant. All in all, a good smoke any day of the week. Read Less
