describe. It has this inviting, "dark" scent. Its like you are inhaling the essence of darkness. Weird, but thats the best way I can describe it. When you light it up, the flavor is beautiful. It reminds me of a deep rich brownie in tobacco form. No flavor except rich, dark tobacco. Nice white clouds on exhale. The perique makes the back of my throat buzz a bit and to be honest, its wonderful. I highly reccomend this blend if you are on the fence. I am excited to see how this does with some age on it. njoy the Perique without it being overpowering and it mixes well with the Latakia. So, for me, this blend is rich and a little spicy and sour from the Perique. In addition, after smoking quite a bit of this and for only having three ingredients, I am always surprised how the flavors seem to develop and come together all the way to the bottom of the bowl. rprise given the tobacco blends that comprise this sublime mixture. This is the first tobacco that I could actually pick up individual flavors throughout. The sweet, almost chocolate/cocoa hints were easily present, and an occasional pepper/spice passed my palate several times. The latakia was mild as almost being imperceptible. This blend was an overall earthy, fragrant smoke. I like this one a lot. It is unlike any other blend that I have smoked to date. A great, unique tobacco blend that does not easily compare to other blends I have tried. I do not intend to smoke this one every day, as it would cheat me out of a special blend variant which shakes things up a bit. Well worth the price of admission, and I will be buying more. Read Less

With a slight amount of Perique and Latakia the black Cavendish is really the star of the show here. Coffee and chocolate notes. Very smooth and mellow with a very slight hint of spice. I'll be buying a lot more of this here...

It isn’t a bad smoke by any means but I feel it lacks in flavor and aroma. In my opinion it needs a pinch of Virginia to balance it out.

This is a very enjoyable blend it packs a lot of pepper form the Perique but is balanced with the Latakia and Black Cavendish all in all a good after dinner smoke.

d Latakia blend that can compete with the great Balkans & English mixtures from days gone by...something that takes me back...& this one works. When one considers smoking a subsequent bowl, that's a sign of excellence. MM is a black/very dark, oily looking, ready rubbed blend that produces tons of creamy smoke. Tin note is similar to SPC's Plum Pudding...leathery, hickory smoked bacon, earthy, muddy, musty like an old horse blanket, smoky, sour & fermenty with a noticeable Latakia presence & the blend melds together well after one third of the bowl has burned off. Mississippi Mud... what a befitting name! The tin art is beautiful... incredibly nostalgic & takes me back to the reading of Mark Twain novels. First it doesn't taste like river mud... don't ask. No tongue bite, no nicotine buzz and stayed lit. Great taste, some pepper note. The wife likes the smell and that is a great plus. Replacing Frog Mortons on my favorite list. Give it a try.

medium to full and inconsistent, with notes of smoky, cedar wood, dry earth, musty floral, overly toasted bread, mild sweet tart fruit, mild bitter dark chocolate and a mild peppery retro. Latakia is leading with the cavendish and perique arguing back and forth about who's the best supporter. Room note is tolerable to strong, and aftertaste is ok. Read Less

It's not bad.
When I smoke it, I prefer to blend it with a touch of C+D Bright Virginia to make it really pop.
The name is no joke. Its definitely muddy and earthy on the palate.

This stuff is pretty smooth and well blended. Nothing offensive about it and I can definitely understand how people who like black cavendish and Latakia would find this very enjoyable. So I pull the stuff down occasionally. Give it a try.

Wonderful stuff. I’m not a huge Virginia fan so the lack of it is a plus. I don’t like strong tobaccos but I find this to be a perfect strength. I’ll be buying more.

This is a deep, dark blend with tons of character. I love how the unflavored cavendish adds a full, chewy, density to the smoke. It also adds a distinctive buttery flavor.
