Just ordered final 2 tins from here. So good any easy for daily use. I will miss you! 똑땅해 ㅠ

Topping is not noticeable in my opinion. Orientals are sitting way on the back burner as is any Turkish. Mellow and smooth to begin, hearty and stout to finish. Treat this one carefully. Long soft puffs will get you the most out of this.

The fruit essence here is hardly noticeable. The Orientals are very nice and I'd imagine this blend will age very well. My cellar is stocked.

This is a great blend from one of the Masters. There is a topping added to it. A Citrus and other fruits. But I didn't really realized it untill I read info about it. But I still do enjoy this one. Especially in the Autumn months with good

I love McConnell's 5 year matured, so of course that is a direct result of my love for this particular blend from Dunhill. The two are similar, yet stand apart. Flavors are similar, but I can tell the difference. This has a regular spot in my tobacco... Read More

This is one of my most outstandingly consistent and enjoyed blends! The Virginias are smooth and creamy with just the right balance of age and sweetness for me. The topping is just a dream of an essence that does not distract from the great tobacco... Read More
flavor one bit. I have always enjoyed Dunhills discrete ribbon cut and this is no exception. This is indeed one of the blends I am stockpiling in advent of the FDA apocalypse, along with several other Dunhill blends including Dunhill's deluxe navy rolls, royal yacht, and ready-rubbed. Read Less

Product: Dunhill Three Year Matured 50g
Dunhill Three Year Matured is back! Three Year Matured is a full-tasting, well-rounded Virginia blend. It's not so much sweet, but has a matured dryness like a good bottle of wine or scotch. There's the taste of dark, heavy bread and oats, along wit... Read More
h an herbal spiciness, which I suspect is due to the presence of a "pinch of oriental leaf." It burns cool even in my most finicky pipes and is gentle on the tongue. I sometimes smoke a little too voraciously, and Three Year Matured has never bitten me. If you're worried about the addition of a "fruit essence," don't be. It is truly as "subtle" as promised by the description. I only noted its presence occasionally in the side-stream aroma.Having only had a chance to sample a fresh tin, I look forward to trying this after it has been aged a bit. Read Less

Product: Dunhill Three Year Matured 50g
Reviews are interesting for this VA, I found it quite nice with rich smoke and lots of flavor. Seemed pretty full bodied and robust for a VA. Tin note sweet and savory and room note also nice. This seems like a good choice if you're in to virginias.
Miss Royal Yacht’s Less Celebrated But Intriguing Cousin

Product: Dunhill Three Year Matured 50g
For an hour you’ve been dancing at the English manor’s annual ball with Miss Royal Yacht. In personality, she’s not necessarily complex and or multidimensional, but she is beautiful and is one smashing dancer. Miss Royal Yacht goes for a bathroom br... Read More
eak and to then get another cocktail, and she urges you to dance with her cousin in from across the countryside, Mav (Mature Aged Virginia). Mav is cute, but less eye-catching than her more popular cousin. But you both head out onto the floor and within seconds you’re impressed. Although Miss Royal Yacht is a better dancer, you find Mav has a few more dance moves and despite that she’s not as attractive, definitely possesses a sort of je ne sais quoi. As you chat afterwards at the edge of the dance floor, she does reveal a few intriguing traits you didn’t find in her sister. But Miss Royal Yacht returns and you never again dance or chat with her cousin Mav again...
That is how I regard Dunhill’s discontinued blend, Three Year Matured Virginia. Royal Yacht is a better blend, and I’ll be puffing her for decades longer. Yet Royal Yacht consists of pure Virginias, and despite its greater stature, it is not quite as complex as TYMV, which has more ingredients. There are the Virginias, but there’s a small bit of Orientals thrown into the mix, with the lightest fruit topping (you can detect this first in the citrusy tin note). My future dances with Cousin Mav will be few in number, as I’m on my last tin. But she’s a pleasant interlude, every few months. 4.0 stars. Read Less

Product: Dunhill Three Year Matured 50g
Tobacco has a gray coating and a pleasant aroma smoked immediately from a can. The humidity was perfect. The taste was very pleasant.
The last batch came very moistly (humidity 80%). The aroma from the jar is weak, honey. I put it off for later.

, with typical Dunhill strong nicotine level. I smoke TYMV in large to extra large James Upshall and Tilshead bowls where the fine ribbon cut burns consistently well and provides an outstanding matured red Virginia experience. There may be other Virginias and Oriental tobaccos in the mixture , but when I pick TYMV up I pick it up as a matured red Virginia , with an excellent deep mature red Virginia flavor and excellent burn . Strong nicotine , smoke it under your favorite tree , you will be amazed. Highly recommended. Read Less

Strange Aromatic

Product: Dunhill Three Year Matured 50g

e same spread regarding “strength” and “taste”. This inconsistency highly irritates me.
On opening the tin I smell bread/yeast from the Red Virginia and some vinegary sourness from fermentation of the matured Virginia, that’s all, neither Orientals nor artificial flavours. Let’s see, which aromas will appear upon smoking:
Good burning conditions. There is not much taste, it’s faint. The most obvious being that of matured or stoved Virginia, a bread/yeast note that is, hiding away the hay/grass notes. The small amount of Oriental leaf is noticeable and welcome. All aromas (good and bad) are quite irregular while smoking through the bowl. Some might find this interesting. I am not able to describe and specify the added flavouring. The tragedy is, that this artificial flavouring hinders most of the natural tobacco aromas to unfold, and the subtle ones are totally suffocated. Like many other artificial flavours do, it releases bitter tastes. At the end of the bowl I don’t know what I have been smoking and I am left behind with an unpleasant, weary after-taste.
It is misleading to call this mixture TREE YEAR MATURED VIRGINIA! It does not taste like an honest Virginia Blend. It is an indefinable, obvious Aromatic. It lacks in body, depth, character and taste. A disappointment. I can’t recommend it. Read Less
