Product: Dunhill Durbar 50g
This a classic medium-bodied blend. Notes of Floral and a slight sweetness to it. Those of you who have been the fan of English blend for years. This is a must try. Dunbar is a excellent evening smoke.

Durbar smells wonderful in the tin and tastes wonderful in the pipe. Slightly floral, slightly sour, and subtly sweet, with just a touch of smokiness in the background. Great smoke overall. Gotta snag some tins for the cellar before this goes away fo... Read More

I found this blend to be a nice Latakia blend. It's rounded off quite well, but nothing really springs out and fan dances for your attention.
Favorite Dunhill Blend

This is by far my favorite of all the Dunhill blends. You can bet I am stocking up on this stuff before stock finally runs out.
Very pleasing blend

Product: Dunhill Durbar 50g
This cool burning english blend has a very subtle sweet note every now and again. It reminds me of clove just a little bit. It is a small contribution that balances the spice from the latakia. It is a pleasure to smoke.

Dunhill pipe tobaccos are really good. I find myself using Dunhill pipe tobaccos as the measuring stick when it comes to non aromatics. Durbar is a great old school English blend.
Consistently Satisfying

The Murray blends of the Dunhill recipes, while they do differ slightly from the 80s and 90s blends, are very consistent, and I find this to be true of all the Murray Dunhill blends. The latikia and Virginias play a solid supporting role in the blend... Read More
. The Virginias come through tart and slightly sweet with citrus undertones. The latikia serves its expected smokiness, but at a more subdued level, reinforcing its supporting role. The real stars of the show are the Orientals, which provide some spice and floral overtones. This tends to dry once opened and left in the tin, so best to move to a jar after opening. This blend also benefits from a bit of aging, which tends to bring out more of the light and dark Virginias (based on a comparisons between 3 year-old and newly opened tins. Pairs very well with a dram of Talisker or Bowmore, and it also brings out more of the smokiness in the Speyside whisky. Best when enjoyed at a very slow rate of puff. Highly recommended! Read Less

This blend is just fantastic and sometimes overlooked. Actually, I really don't understand how come it's not in the top 10 of the list.
I just love its Latakia, and especially the orientals. The aroma from the tin is leathery and smoky, but not lik... Read More
e nightcap, it's less "mystical" than nightcap but not as sweet as mm965.
Heavy on the right places but not overwhelming. Sometimes savory - salty, sometimes a Latakia sweetness ( but not really sweet in any way). It's one of my all time favorite, give it a shot while it's still available. Read Less

You know what you're getting with Dunhill ribbons, this is no different. Burns well, packs easily. Middle of the road English.
My introduction to latakia
March 02, 2017
Product: Dunhill Durbar 50g
I am new to this and have always been curious about English blends. Picked this up and thought I'd give it a try. Smells nice on opening. It reminds me of something, savoury. Like some meat dish or meat stew. Bit of olive as well. I can say tha... Read More
t since trying more English blends, I think this is the note I am getting from the latakia. I do so thoroughly enjoy it. Packed in the pipe and it lit well. My palate is ignorant on picking out the various latakia, orientals and other tobaccos. I am, however, thoroughly enjoying this. Sadly, I found out not long after that Dunhill will be ceasing production of its tobaccos. What a confusing shame. I recommend this overall, and will say that for someone curious about English blends or a newbie like me, this is good. It does not suffer the mellowness that the tobaccos recommended to me suffer from. Yeah, I may be new but I do want some flavour. Unoffensive can be offensively boring. I have since tried Early Morning Pipe and just ordered Frog Morton Cellar and Mclellan Wilderness. Read Less
An interesting Standard mixture

Product: Dunhill Durbar 50g
I had this recommended from a few friends. And in both of their recommendations they claimed two things, smoothness and tastefulness. One of them I can attest to, this tobacco is quite smooth in all the right ways. But on tastefulness I tend to disag... Read More
ree. As all Dunhill blends, this has a perfect ribbon cut and moisture content. Virtually packs itself up, lights easily and stays lit. The tin note is quite pleasant and has notes of plums and raisins. Sadly the taste or the room note do not share the same quality. This tobacco tastes like a mixture of sharp, high grassy bright virginias and perique. Though it doesn't contain any, but I presume this is due to the orientals. However, There are rare hints of the orientals or the latakia. I presume both are there to produce smoke and that smoothness. But both are not evident in the taste/aroma profile except for that spiceness. I found its taste and nic-hit to be medium but your mileage may vary on those. And the room note was pungent. However, the tobacco burns evenly, cool and well and leaves just pure white ash. If you enjoy citrusy, grassy Virginia mixed with spicy tobacco this will be your tobacco of choice, but it isn't my favourite ride.
Update: Changing the pipe and letting the tobacco dry a bit changes that grassy taste to a darker profile and allows the Latakia to shine quite a bit

Think of sour dough bread toast with butter spread across the top. This is so good it should only be smoked at night under full moon.

I have already tried the Dunhill Appertif, Early Morning Pipe, Elizabethan Mixture, and Dunhill Flake. Here's another all-star! What an awesome tobacco! Mild-medium bodied; smooth and delightful: A tobacco you can enjoy with any pipe.
Best balanced English-Oriental

Overwhelmingly well balanced, honest English-Oriental mixture! A very pleasant buttery sweetness from the Virginias underlines the incredibly well chosen Orientals. After the first third of the bowl a nice oak note comes along. The added Latakia does... Read More
not cover up this blend at all. No flavour peaks, just marvellously balanced.
DURBAR’S sibling, the LONDON MIXTURE, emphasises on spicy Orientals.
Since I bought this tin a fortnight ago, it must be the new release of Dunhill by the Scandinavian Tobacco Group. I am not familiar with the former one by Murray. Read Less
Smoky Goodness
September 25, 2015
Product: Dunhill Durbar 50g
This blend has a very smoky flavor to me. The latakia takes lead over the oriental in my opinion. It has a subtle spiciness to it and the aroma is very pleasant. It is similar to nightcap but I think this proves a little better.

Product: Dunhill Durbar 50g
Great taste and flavor. A nice blend that tickles your olfactory senses (smoking it as I'm writing this review.) It doesn't overpower making it seductive in its own way. A keeper and part of my rotation. Hard to go wrong with this Dunhill mixture.

Product: Dunhill Durbar 50g
This smoke likes to slow burn, and has nice spicy overtones, and burns to a nice ash. Quality blend from Dunhill.
Product: Dunhill Durbar 50g
Great blend, not as in your face as some Dunhills but very enjoyable. This is not a Latakia first blend, the orientals take the lead with a spicy/incense taste. Very subtle smoke that is sure to please.
