Best Virginia Flake
February 04, 2014
Product: Fribourg & Treyer Special Brown Flake 50g
I love Virginia flakes. They are my mainstay. 75% of my smoking is with pressed Virgina flakes. This is, in my mind, the best Virginia flake that I have ever smoked. It has less tongue bite than any Virginia flake I have ever tried. I have been buyin... Read More
g and smoking F&T Vintage Flake for many years and thought it was the best. About a month ago I bought a tin of this, and I couldn't put it down. I smoked the whole 50g tin in a day and a half. I can hardly wait for another shipment to the house. Read Less

香甜,柔和,斗温相当容易控制,我认为比sg和其他品牌以“布朗”为名的切片比这个其实算第一。顺便祝福EMS收取50块服务费的国际部和hg全家死绝……

I thoroughly enjoy this flake. Tobacco aromas and tastes: semi- sweet, tangy, bready, and earthy. Lots of lovely flavors as you go down the bowl and things unfurl. It's just a little moist out of the tin. I love this stuff.

Stoved virginia and rum. A lot like blockade runner by C&D. Fribourg and Treyer are much overlooked these days. And they shouldnt be. This is, like all their tobacco blends, first rate. The rum is subtle, but its there. And it adds to the coolnes... Read More

…But, not for me. When I spied the deep brown flakes in the tin I knew I was looking at fine quality tobacco, here. I wanted to like it. I just didn’t. Has baked bread-like flavors, and further on tastes like a strong cup of Columbian coffee, wit... Read More
h a half teaspoon of sugar. I could not detect the rum top note. Just as well I suppose. I prefer my rum in a Cuba Libre. Bitter at times, just not enough sugar for my sweet tooth. Don’t get me wrong, I recognize this as an excellent tobacco, it’s just not my cup of tea (or, coffee, rather). It may end up your favorite. I can sure understand that. Read Less

This is exactly what I imagine was smoked in the British navy in the sail days . The rum has a subtle but real presence and the tobacco packs and burns well . one of the finest examples of casing that I have seen.

I am a rum flavor fan. I have tried Cornell & Diehl’s After Hours, Garwith Hoggart's Rum Flake, and now (drum roll please) Fribourg & Treyer's Special Brown Flake. I like them all; however, F & T stands out on top in my opinion. There ... Read More
is a good rum flavor, slight sweetness on the tip of the tong, and a smooth all the way through smoking experience.
In comparison to the others, I would say there is a slight tong bite with each of the others that occurs during the smoke. It reminds you to slow down a little. They both have nice rum aroma but F & T has the most rum taste.
If there is any downside the F & T's Special Brown Flake is that it is al little fast burning and it won't be around much longer. I wish it came in bulk. I would buy it by the pound! If you like rum, this is a must try. Read Less
