Effervescent is the word that keeps popping up in my head while smoking this blend, something in the flavoring makes it taste bubbly to me. I love it and I'll be cellaring this one DEEP, along with the other Lakeland blends I love. This one is refres... Read Morehing, it works well in the warmer weather especially in humid climates but it helps keep ya warm in the winter too. This is said to be the exact opposite of Coniston Cut Plug and I certainly can't argue with that statement. I love CCP but that one is more of an "every now and then" type smoke whereas this one is more like a daily smoke but it is still no weakling either as I don't think anything from GH&Co. is. I would say the nicotine level would fall in the medium spectrum. Those folks know how to make masculine blends with just a touch of femininity and the femininity in this case happens to be the floral notes added in the top dressing. I love, love, love tobaccos that have floral notes in them as it seems to work with the tobacco as apposed to completely drowning out the natural flavors. Most folks that say they only get perfume from these scented tobaccos probably haven't gotten passed the first couple of puffs as anyone who has smoked a whole lot of this stuff knows that the tobaccos really open up and bloom and the added scent becomes a nuance that helps keep the leaf interesting. I think our friends out in the Lake District are absolute genius blenders and are some of the great artists of our time and times passed.

Medium Body, medium/full flavor, mild/medium nicotine. If you enjoy spraying your tobacco with perfume and dousing it with soap, I think you’ll enjoy this. Sorry to be so blunt, but why ruin an obviously beautiful VA/BUR flake with floral oils? Th... Under the oils, I detect a fermented and tangy VA, while the Burley is mouth-filling and drying, the kind of dry akin to eating pecans or walnuts. It WILL ghost your pipe, and the broken flake will require drying or you’ll spend some time relighting quite a bit. One star as the VA and Burley are of good quality, for that split second you taste it at first light. Read Less

This is virtually a blend reversal of Coniston Cut Plug with 75% Flue-cured Virginia. 16 % dark fired 9% Burley. The blend therefore has far milder ch... Read Morearacteristics; and is rounded off with the addition of typical English flavours, and a touch of vanilla.
This has been a revelation to me. I smoked my first bowlful, and the next day, and about 6 bowlfuls later, I realized I had not been smoking anything else, which is quite unusual. It quickly became a favorite of mine, and it now competes with Glengarry; the most notable advantage it has over Glengarry is that its room aroma is a whole lot more pleasant. Don't let the vanilla turn you off; the smell of the tobacco reveals no vanilla, and when you smoke it, you get a VERY suble vanilla taste that complements the taste of the ingredient tobaccos to perfection. It's definitely an all-day smoke, and it will be this one I grab when I intend to smoke in the company of non-smokers and in public places (when it is possible). I highly recommend it to those who smoke flavored tobaccos, as well as those who prefer natural ones. I expect it will be greatly enjoyed by all. Read Less

Lakeland-style tobaccos: They're not for everybody. I'm a fan of the Lakelands, myself and I've liked just about everything that GH & Co. produces. This has become one of my favorites. I don't get a lot of Vanilla flavor, but I do get all of the floral notes, but that's not what this blend is really about, I think. This blend is about some top quality tobaccos and a little something extra.
It's not a perfume explosion like Ennerdale, but definitely a GH tobacco. The Lakeland essence, while quite noticeable at first, begins to fade into the background after about the 1/4 bowl mark at which point, they come in and out of the smoking experience. Like the previous reviewer, I would have preferred just a bit more of the Lakeland flavor, but it is still an excellent smoke. If you like Lakeland tobaccos, this should definitely be on the top of your list. Read Less
