They really need to stick a pipe in the Hare's mouth, it would be so cool. Photoshop anyone?

Ok, so the tin art likely brought you here, but honestly the tobacco is great as well. Personally I like Macanudo better than Wild Hare, but they are very comparable. I do find it to have a touch of bite when nearing the end of the bowl, but still de... Read More

I saw this and had to try it...the rabbit drew me in. It's an okay smoke...could use a little more zing in the vanilla...I'd buy it again just for the tin.
A not-so wild hare that's more like a fluffy bunny.

I bought Wild Hare on a whim when the name caught my eye. I have pet rabbits and just loved the tin art. I've even got a memorial pipe (Chacom New Festival 183) named after my favorite Harlequin Rex, Romeo. I smoke lots of different style blends and ... Read More
this one is a nice anytime aromatic. Its properties are easy-going with a good basic ribbon cut that'll give you no problems. It's the sort of tobacco you might consider safe for someone trying the hobby for the first time. The name makes me think of Radagast Rhosgobels, but the blend has more in common with a cute domesticated lop. There's nothing wild about this ride, just easy goin' bliss. As aromatics go, it is mostly Cavendish with some Burley but the topping is never cloying and not overly moist. It has a faint sweetness of vanilla or nougat and the Burley imparts a slight chocolaty flavor. Something about Wild Hare reminds me of Captain Black Original too, though it lacks Virginia tartness. Overall, I'd recommend this one, it is a solid 3 star tobacco worth a try. So, hop to it! Read Less

tried this for the first time 2 weeks ago and it has since been my go to tobacco. Smokes like a freight train and tastes great, easy smoke.

I'm surprised that I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would. It just didn't deliver on flavor.

I'm a fan of vanilla blends, but Wild hare didnt really impress me that much. the flavor was super subtle, and started to taste ashy halfway through the bowl. No bite, but just not the flavor I was looking for. Cute tin art.
Very nice

Excellent blend, hints of vanilla very faint in the background. Reminds me of Cult Conspiracy a little bit. it does have a bit of Burley and Light and Dark Cavendish that evens it out to a medium smokiness. overall very interesting blend not bad a... Read More

A perfect change of pace!

Product: Lane Limited Wild Hare 1.75oz
This is an outstanding blend that I feel needs to be recommended for wider audience. I should start this review with a disclaimer that I am by no means an aromatic smoker, nor an expert in the genre. In fact, it is the only aromatic in my current rot... Read More
ation of straight Virginias and Virginia-Perique blends and an odd Scottish mixture. My reason for purchasing a tin of Wild Hare was wanting to branch out a little, get a change of pace, and gain some personal experience with aromatics that tend to get a lot of bad press. I guess I got lucky because to my palate, Wild Hare is nothing short of spectacular!
Why so? To begin with the practicalities, it is one of the best burning tobaccos I have ever tried. I began cautiously by drying it out for half an hour before every bowl. It takes the light and burns with minimum of matches to the very end. Clean, dry, and pleasant. In fact, I have come to the habit of smoking it straight out of the tin without any airing time - something I rarely do with any of my regular blends. The results have been consistent every single time. Like all aromatics it most certainly ghosts the pipe so having one dedicated is a must. Mine is a diminutive Danish Rhodesian with a very conical chamber. But the ghost it leaves is almost worth a star by itself. It simply smells delicious!
What about the taste? One often hears of overly sweet, artificial tasting aromatics. To my palate, the Wild Hare is the very opposite of this characterization. The vanilla is there, with subtle sugars in the background. But it is by no means overpowering the gentle Cavendish-Virginia that makes up the bulk of this blend. Each sip is creamy smooth with a pleasant lingering aftertaste.
Not an everyday smoke for me, certainly. But like a good dessert wine or a gelato, the Wild Hare that never fails to bring a smile when I do reach for it. I can thus wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone wanting to venture off the beaten path of unflavored blends for an occasional treat.
As an added bonus, the tin art is one of the finest in recent memory! Read Less

ndish and Burley with a very slight vanilla or Plumb smell. It packs and burns really well. The smoke is just like the smell and there is zero bite. I'd call it a light to medium in strength. Definitely something you could smoke more than one bowl of in a day.
