Scottish Cake - A blend from the McConnell's beginnings, this coarse-cut Broken Flake is a great favorite for young and old. Dark brown in its color, the seasoned pieces may directly be tampered into the pipe or even lightly broken to suit a smaller bowl. Produced from a mixture of Eastern Carolina, Kentucky and Middle Belt, that are pressed for a week and coarse cut. It has to rest for some days until it has hardened. Then it is packaged. A very popular tobacco and very slow in its burning.

McConnell does a superb job in crafting this blend. For starters, the tin note is refreshing; pure tobacco. I also like the feel of it in the hand; it crumbles nicely, and isn't too moist. I like burley mixed in with other leaf, and feel the geograph... Read Moreical gathering of these tobaccos are the key to Scottish Cake's uniqueness. Tough to come by unfortunately. I love Vapers and those that contain burley as well. This tobacco violates my palate and leaves my mouth feeling like I have eaten a whole raw pineapple for some reason. I am pretty sure it has some kind of nasty topping on it, it reminds me of batte... Read Morery acid for some reason. I gave it to a friend who says he likes it ok if he smokes it mega slow but I'd try at least one tin before you buy too much like I did. Just because it is similar to other tobaccos I really enjoy in it's basic components does not mean it is either blended well or a good smoke. Read Less
A very good straight up tobacco Flavor, Sweet virginia’s and mild Perique! I have had this and a tin of the “Scottish Flake” and if I had to choose between the two I would say I enjoyed this one more. More sweetness that I enjoy and slight spice fro... I am quite taken by this blend. Rich and earthy, it has a "woodsy" quality to to, like being out and about on an early fall day. To my taste, the burley predominates, and it burns to a clean ash leaving my pipes virtually dry. However, this has a bit... I really love this born even though I can't smoke it all day as my palate is a little sensitive to smoked Kentucky tobaccos. I also find that this blend is sensitive to how you pack it in your pipe. A system pipe would really be a nice one to smoke this out of. When you hit it right it really is an amazingly tasty blend that really does stand out from others. Smooth, sweet and plummy, with no trace of topping or flavoring. Slow burning, yet producing a large volume of luscious smoke. The Kentucky leaf takes it out of the VaPer genre, but Vaper aficionados simply must try this.
To me this is just a middle of the road VaPer. Not much to write home about. It's worth trying a tin, but it's not one I'll be keeping on hand. It packs well and burns well.
