A Day in the Life of a Pipe
Each pipe has a journey and a story. That story starts long before it reaches our hands at Smokingpipes.com, and it continues long after the pipe reaches its owner. In fact, much of what you see on the website is in some way trying to relate that story; we help illustrate where the pipe has been with the artisans who made it, as well as what the pipe might do once the right person comes along. But what happens in the middle? Between craftsmen and customers, pipes spend chapters of their stories here in Longs, waiting for the next step, but not many people get to see what that looks like.
Shelly, Ted's lovely wife, came to the Smokingpipes.com offices with a video camera a couple of weeks ago. There were interviews and explanations, and, ultimately, Shelly created a video that we have all been hoping to see for quite some time: an account of those missing chapters in a pipe's story.
Starting with Shane and Sykes, who select and receive the pipes, often directly from their makers, the video follows one pipe's journey through merchandising and data entry, to photography and photo editing, to copy-writing, onto an update, through customer service, to being pulled and packaged for shipping, and into your hands. Even better, you get a glimpse at the fantastic people who make this process happen hundreds of times each week. Enjoy!

Good day....I am a newbies in smoking pipes world
Way cool! It's easy to see why SmokingPipes.com starts out - great folks helping pipe smokers.
I really enjoyed the video. The small blurbs, precise dimensions, and individual photographs are the reasons you guys are my primary shopping source. The purchase history and all the features are really neat too, keep up the good work.
The care you all put in really shows. Probably why I buy most of my pipes and tobacco from you. That and the vast selection and great prices. Also I wrote to you guys a couple of months ago to help me get in touch with Claudio Cavicchi to fix two of my pipes. You did and he fixed them himself. Now they are better then ever!
Interesting. Did not know it takes so many people to make a sale. I can't get over the clever use of your "captcha" submit button.
I really enjoyed this. Loyal customer for many years, as you have the best selection and best customer service in the industry. (My one visit to the shop was a treat, as well.) It was nifty seeing all the folks involved. Good on you!
@Robert Glad you liked it Robert, thanks for watching (and for being awesome)!
Great video. Your site is very informitive with your how-to's into getting started in pipe smoking, purchasing etc. I need to do a little more research and visit some stores before I dive in. Look for me as a future customer when I do.
@Lawrence Glad we could help Lawrence, we can't wait to have you as a customer and, please, let us know if you have any questions.
Very cool insight into the company! I just sent some estates in for evaluation. It's great to see the process they will be going through. I just hope they rate high enough to allow me to buy that Castello I've been eyeing!
@T.D. Thanks for watching, mate. We're glad you enjoyed it, and we'll cross our fingers for you on that new Castello :D
