A few months ago, we were in Vegas for the IPCPR show when we spotted a well-known pipe enthusiast and noticed his one-of-a-kind pipe bag — we're familiar with just about every brand out there, yet couldn't place its maker. After chatting for a few minutes, he told us that it was a birthday gift from his daughter, an up-and-coming and talented luxury goods designer in New York. The piece she'd made for her father was lightweight, durable, compact, extremely functional, and made from quality cowhide; we were immediately interested.
Senderkis accessories are completely handcrafted by Marianna in her New York studio. The talented artisan began her journey into fashion and luxury goods at Parsons in NYC, where she studied women's ready-to-wear design. While completing her studies, she worked for a luxury goods fashion house specializing in furs and exotic skins. It was there, working with expert craftsmen and artisans to create beautiful handmade pieces, that she discovered her love for accessory design.
The theme of Senderkis' work is a focus on minimalist, clean presentations, produced using high-quality materials. This attention to quality and detail, combined with her ability to incorporate multiple compartments into a compact, streamlined design, defines the Senderkis aesthetic — resulting in a line of durable, lightweight, accessible pipe bags and accessories uniquely tailored to the modern pipe smoker.
