Smokingpipes in Chicago 2016

Last week a bunch of us from the office attended the annual Chicagoland Pipe Collectors Club show. It's always great to see so many pipe makers, customers, and enthusiasts enjoying our unique hobby, but this year was particularly special. It was huge. I don't know if we've ever seen so many people in one building so excited about pipes and pipe tobacco. We drank a lot of coffee, laughed until we were sore, and bought a lot of really special pipes, pieces which we'll be putting up on the site in the coming months.

They say a picture's worth a thousand words. Well, since I doubt any of you would actually like to read a 61,000 word thesis on the growth of pipe smoking in the U.S., here's some of the best moments from our time at CPCC 2016:

Smio Satou and Alex Florov

Shane Ireland and Chris Lee from iBriar

Chip Kushner and Brian Levine

Shane Ireland, Werner Mummert, and Tom Eltang

The King of Perique, Mark Ryan, and Joshua Burgess

    • Amazing show. This was my first time attending and, quite honestly, I was overwhelmed! Where to look, what to sample, who to talk to?! Loved it and cannot wait for next year. The Smokingpipes booth was great and it was nice to be able to meet you guys and chat a bit. Thanks for the kitsch and keep up the good work! Cheers from Kenosha, WI

    • My first time entering this type of media, though I enjoy pipes. I hope this works out.

    • Was very impressed with the show, first time for me as well, but I had a experienced guide. Hope the new regs don't ruin it for next year. You guys do a great job. Keep up the good work!
