Tasting Notes: BriarWorks Tobaccos

Everyone here at Smokingpipes.com has been really excited about the first BriarWorks tobaccos: Bacon Old Fashioned, Back Down South, and Pete's Beard's Blend. We've tried the prototypes at various stages, geeked-out over the unique packaging, and waited patiently for the release to start stocking up ourselves. It's fitting that the Nashville-based BriarWorks International would turn to one of America's premier boutique tobacco manufacturers to produce blends to go alongside their own American-made briars.

For this video, I sampled the blends myself (and loved every minute of it). What's more, I sent out pre-release samples to a few willing participants that had no idea what they were trying.

The consensus was that BriarWorks and Cornell & Diehl accomplished exactly what they set out to: create unique, challenging, and satisfying blends worth a spot in tobacco cellars everywhere. A special thanks to @Coltnoir, @Unclebuccs, and @Bone0305 for participating in the blind taste test!

Shane - this was my first blind tasting ever. Thanks so much for including me. As you know, I loved the BriarWorks 'Back Down South' and now have a jar that I'm much enjoying, along with the Bacon Old Fashioned. I have to say, that was a spectacular debut for BriarWorks!

    Kind regards,
    Unc

Agreed whole heartedly with your tasting observations. I received Pete's Beard and Down South as stocking stuffers this past Christmas and am a huge fan. I'm more of an English blend smoker and Pete's Beard is fantastic. It's turned out to be my "go to" lately. I'll be picking up more to cellar as I'm def going to burn through this jar quickly! Well done Briar Works! And thanks Shane for a great posting.
