Tasting Notes: Warped's Cloud Hopper

Over the last few months, Kyle Gellis, President of Warped Cigars, has worked closely with Jeremy Reeves, head blender of Cornell & Diehl, to bring the boutique cigar manufacturer's youthful energy and blending expertise to the world of pipe tobacco. The collaboration began with the special edition blend, The Haunting, released October 9th in a limited, seasonal run of 2000 tins. Kyle and Jeremy didn't stop there, though; more recently, they've been working on expanding the brand with a regular production lineup, beginning with two "exclusively different" blends: Cloud Hopper & Kings Stride.

On this episode of Tasting Notes, I take a closer look at Cloud Hopper. Inspired by Kyle's adventurous lifestyle and love for travel, Cloud Hopper captures the essence and smoking experience of Warped's popular Cloud Hopper cigar, which has been one of my favorite sticks for years now. A true crossover blend, it showcases components from myriad growing regions on both sides of the Atlantic — including AA Dominican Criollo, the same varietal used in The Haunting, traditional Italian air-cured cigar leaf, yellow and red Virginia tobaccos, and a modest portion of genuine St. James Louisiana Perique.

For those interested in trying it, both Cloud Hopper and Kings Stride are available today, only at Smokingpipes.com.
