Curivari Cigars: Our Staff Picks
Today I'm gonna talk about one of the best kept secrets in the cigar industry. I'm gonna expose that to you. This is a brand known as Curivari.
Note: The following transcription has been edited for clarity and brevity.
Curivari was founded by Andreas Throuvalas in 2003 in Europe. Where they really made their statement was through entering the United States in 2010 and offering cigars that were very much different from what was on the market at the time.
The brand is a reminder of what cigars used to be. It's not about a flashy gimmick, overpowering strength, or complexity; It's about the nuance and authenticity. It's about what an old-school, Cuban-style cigar is meant to be in flavor, aroma, and experience.
Affordable Daily Drivers
Curivari is a new-world creation made with a classic Cuban twist. Utilizing Cuban Criollo and Corojo seed grown in Nicaragua, all their cigars are made using only the traditional Cuban cigar-making process. From cultivation to fermentation and aging, Curivari places value on the details, with every single leaf passing through the hands of their team during the aging process, resulting in full, deep aromas and flavors to be enjoyed. Each cigar is finished with a triple cap. With every Curivari cigar smoked, you will recognize the brand's efforts, pride, and honor in every experience.
Curivari cigars are meant to be inexpensive but affordable daily drivers. It's meant to be something that you can smoke every day, but that's not to say that they don't have some higher-end products. With that being said, at the price of those higher-end products, it's no different than what is already out there on the market and you might be surprised with what you'll find in them.
Let's get into a couple of my personal favorite Curivari cigars.
Selección Privada
First up, we have their staple, which is the Selección Privada. It's a very excellent cigar that is very much in that Cuban profile. If you're a fan of something like an old-school Romeo y Julietta, or maybe even a Partagas, this is gonna be up your alley.
Gloria de Leon
Next up we have Gloria de Leon. If you are in any way a fan of something like a Cuban Hoyo de Monterrey, this will be something you can enjoy.
Buenaventura Favoritos
Last but surely not least, we have the Buenaventura line. The Favoritos, in particular, is my favorite. This is something that is definitely gonna be a daily, inexpensive cigar.
Cuban-Style Flavor and Aroma
Now with these three selected, what I personally like about them is you have all three different cigars and a very affordable price range, but they're not over the top. It's not about the strength, but you're gonna get something more in that mild-to-medium range. They're very flavorful, and that's what's important about Curivari; they value flavor over strength and body. Now these are just three of my favorite Curivari cigars that are in my rotation pretty often, but that is not to say that they do not have a very massive portfolio with many other great cigars that are just waiting for you to smoke. Make sure you check out Curivari cigars right here at Smokingpipes. Leave us a comment: What's your favorite Curivari cigar?
