Making Golden Days of Yore

Recently Cornell & Diehl released their 2015 Christmas blend, Golden Days of Yore, inspired by the classic carol "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas." While its choice components — red and bright Virginias, black Cavendish, dark-fired Kentucky, and Katerini Turkish — make for a delightful blend in its own right, what really sets this year's holiday themed mixture apart is the unique, aromatic sauce. Check out how C&D makes it, one small batch at a time.

Kudos to C & D for showing what goes into their secret sauce. I wish more tobacco makers would be up front about the flavorings used in their offerings - I suspect a lot of smokers would be surprised to learn their favorite tobacco is not as natural as they thought.

That was great guys. Thank you for sharing. As a matter of fact, I have a tin on my desk that I am opening tonight to taste. Hoping for two things. One that I really like it and two that it will cool things down here in Texas ( at least in my head) it's 102 now.

@Tennpipe, There is PG in Golden Days, but it's only added to help the natural flavors used in the sauce to last instead of dissipating. The actual amount of PG used is very small. Thanks!

O man does this sound absolutely delicious!! I am hoping this becomes a favorite treat next to my Mixture Monster. The family anxiously anticipates my cracking open a fresh tin of C&D Holiday mixtures. I can just see smoking a giant Santa meerschaum on Christmas Morning filled with Golden Days of Yore!! Thanks guys for all the hard work, I for one sure appreciate it.

Excellent video, and well made as well. Made my mouth water to think about this smoke. Just ordered a 8 oz tin and can't wait till it arrives. Am sure it will be the same fine quality as all of your blends that I currently enjoy.
