Peterson St. Patrick's Day Pipes 2026

Welcome back to another episode of All Pipes Considered. Today we're talking about the 2026 release of Peterson's St. Patrick's Day pipes, available now on-site in a variety of shapes and finishes.

Note: The following transcription has been edited for clarity and brevity.
Peterson St. Patrick's Day pipes for 2026 are available as of January 16 at 6 p.m. ET in limited quantities.

[Andy Wike]: Steve, thank you so much for joining us.

[Steve Mawby]: Absolutely.

[AW]: I know that you're a fellow Pete Geek, so I thought we would sit down today for a bit and talk about Peterson's longest annual limited-edition release, the St. Patrick's Day pipes for 2026.

[SM]: Yep, absolutely. I'm a big Peterson fan. I oversee the Customer Service department for Smokingpipes. This is one of the releases that I always know collectors and smokers are gonna be very excited about. We always have a lot of buzz and positive feedback about these. It's also always a very busy time for our Customer Service department when these are coming out.

I'm excited about these myself. It's a special release that goes way back to 1998. One of the things that I've personally always loved about Peterson is that there's just so much history and tradition there.

Tri-Colored Bands Return

This year, the tri-colored bands are back, featuring the Irish flag's colors. That was actually featured on the original St. Patrick's Day pipes in 1998. Those were brought back in 2023, and now they're back again. Every year, there's always a little bit of a different iteration on the heritage to incorporate an homage to the past.

[AW]: I think that's a really good point. Peterson has such a special ability to look to the past to innovate for the future, and I think we can see that in this series.

Diverse Range of Shapes and Finishes

This year in particular, they've also added a more diverse range of finishes. This year there's three options: smooth, sandblasted, and rusticated. In addition to that, all of these will have vulcanite Fishtail stems, so if you're on the fence about a P-Lip, or maybe you were looking for some Fishtail additions, this is gonna be the one to look out for.

[SM]: Absolutely. Another great aspect about Peterson is that there's a lot of options to mix and match, with various classic shapes and finishes. They have really cool blasts, and I love the rustications that Peterson has been doing lately. No matter what you're looking for, whether you like textured pipes, or smooth, and a variety of different shapes, there's gonna be something here for everybody.

[AW]: That's a great point. I also think if you missed out on the 2023 release and you really liked the look of the tri-colored bands but maybe you didn't find the finish or the shape combination that you wanted, there's a wide variety to choose from in this year's release. It's really cool to see the tri-colored accent come back but also be given a new spin, so make sure to check these out on-site, and we'll see you next time.

[SM]: Thanks, everyone.

It's not your fault Steve and Andy. There's not something for everybody if there are no acrylic stems. I'm just glad I was able to collect all the shapes (that were available) I wanted with acrylic stems back in 2023. If I recall correctly, only the rusticated were available with acrylic stems and the tweed pipe bag wasn't issued with that choice (always something off to irk the Peterson fan. Just when I think you get me, especially with the 2021 Sherlock Holmes Christmas pipes which sold out, I realize you don't). If my memory serves me correct, there was an anomaly with the sandblasted Watson that was fitted with an acrylic stem and came with the tweed pipe bag. Also, if my kink in my think is remembering correctly, when Chuck Stanion did his article on the 2023 Saint Patrick's Day pipes, it was stated that this line would never return. A laughable music video was posted by Woodsrow on PM at that statement...Never Return!😂 https://youtu.be/S7Jw_v3F_Q0?si=R0N5P2jF0B4eZhmc

Since prices have gone up by about 40%, and quality control seems to be getting worse, I'm probably not buying any Peterson pipes this year. They look nice, though.

    🎶One Pete makes you larger
And one Pete makes you small
And the ones that Laudisi sells you
    Don't do anything at all
    Go ask Alice
    When she's ten feet tall
And if you go chasing Petersons
And you know you're going to fall
    Tell 'em a vulcanite-smoking caterpillar
    Has given you the call
    He called Alice
    When she was just small
When the men on the Internet
Get up and tell you what to smoke
And you've just had some kind of Rustica
And your mind is moving low
    Go ask Alice
    I think she'll know
When pipe shape charts and proportion
    Have fallen sloppy dead
And Hearth & Home's White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Virginia Queen's off with her head
    Remember what the dormouse said
    Feed your head(PAD)
    Feed your head(PAD)🎶
