Savinelli Saint Nicholas 2025 Pipes

We are here today to talk about another exciting release: Savinelli's Saint Nicholas pipes for 2025, available now on-site. This year's selection returns to the iconic colors of Christmas in a strikingly unique fashion.

Note: The metallic band is referred to incorrectly as nickel in the video. This change is reflected in the written transcript, in addition to being edited for clarity and brevity.

[Andy Wike]: We are here today to have another special episode of All Pipes Considered, talking about *invisible drumroll* Savinelli's 2025 Saint Nicholas pipes.

[Steve Mawby]: Yeah, we've got a pretty good selection here. This year is the 13th year that they've been doing this line, right?

[AW]: Yeah. The 13th installment.

[SM]: And they had traditionally been consistent with the Christmas theme. Then there's been a few years where they tried some different things and this year, they came back pretty strong on the actual Christmas motif. Green stems. Red bands on 'em there for the accent. A nice, strong black rustication. They have a very Christmas-y kind of feel, which I think is very fitting for Saint Nicholas.

[AW]: Yeah, I think in the last couple years they've played more with that wintery aesthetic. Like we've seen some that had some blues. Definitely experimenting with some different things. I often think that's a good technique to have, just to take a step away from something that you've traditionally been doing, try some different things, and then come back with a fresh perspective.

I think even though this is a similar color palette to what we've seen historically from Savinelli when it comes to the Saint Nicholas pipe, the execution's really cool and definitely something different. As Steve mentioned, some really nice green acrylic stems on these, and then the red acrylic accent. But then you also have these raised metallic bands, which nicely breaks the lines of the shank and makes it a little bit more pronounced, almost like a wedding-band style.

[SM]: I think that band on it really makes the whole pipe just pop. The color palette there, the sharp contrast between the black blast and the green stem, really just ties together nicely along with the red band. I think it really makes the pipes look very nice. Some good quality, visually appealing pipes here.

[AW]: I also think, because the metallic band is quite bright, it's almost like this play on the Italian flag in a subtle way.

[SM]: Yeah, I didn't even think about that. But it does kind of allude to that. It's subtle. I wouldn't have thought that if you hadn't pointed it out, but now that it's there, it is just a little, subtle nod towards it.

[AW]: I am known to point out subtleties.

[SM]: That's what you're here for. We appreciate that. And there's some good subtleties here on this pipe. Really good lines with some nice changes of pace coming through with the band, as you said. And, of course, we've got some very iconic Savinelli shapes available this year to choose from.

[AW]: Basically, Savinelli's whole core portfolio, including the 606KS and the 320KS.

[SM]: One of my personal favorite shapes.

[AW]: Yeah, of course.

[SM]: Yeah, iconic. Absolutely.

[AW]: It's definitely one of the most recognizable forms in pipedom, at this point, I think.

[SM]: I think Savinelli hit a really good balance here with the classic, the traditional, and instantly recognizable as Savinelli design, but still utilized a unique color palette in a fresh way and struck a good balance between traditional, consistent, and also still very appealing and eye-catching.

[AW]: Yeah, that's a great point. I think it strikes the right balance of familiarity with something fresh.

These are all on-site now, so be sure to check them out. Find your favorite shape. We hope you guys enjoy these as much as we have.
