Savinelli's 321 Shape

Savinelli 321 at Smokingpipes.com

Do you remember last year's Golf pipe from Savinelli's Sports Edition line? It was essentially a scaled down version of the ever-popular "320" Author, featuring all that shape's inherent curves and voluptuousness, only in a much smaller, handier package. As you might expect, the idea really took off. After all, the "320" is quite a large design, coming in either KS or EX sizes, so it only made sense to offer that signature Author in smaller variants, specifically for those who prefer smaller pipes. It also only made sense that Savinelli would choose to include that scaled down version in their standard lines with a distinct shape number, the "321".

You can find more information about the "321" in the above video, where Sykes and I discuss everything from the shape's origins, to the aesthetics, to the variety of finishes you'll find it available in. So be sure to check that out. Of course, if you want to see the "321" for yourself, just head on over to Savinelli's page on the site.

Purchasing several Savinelli pipes in the past few years for myself and as gifts I have been disappointed in the quality of the briars. The fit has been fine and the smoking performance has been good. However , the amount of checks and fills has been VER,VERY disapointing to me!!! My question is this, at what price point do checks and fills, that show more and more as the pipe is smoked DISAPEAR??? I look forward to your response.....

@James Romanshek Hey James, I actually just spoke to our Savinelli rep for you. Essentially, the Giubileo d'Oro and Autograph lines should never have a fill. Punto Oros might have the occasional fill, but should be few and far between, if that.

Everything else will depend on the block it was carved from. We do have pictures of every individual pipe we sell, so I encourage you to inspect those for suspected fills, and if you're ever unsure please never hesitate to contact our customer service team.
