Tasting Notes: C&D Small Batch - Straight Up English

Straight Up English is the first installment of C&D's new Small Batch project, and it delivers exactly what the name promises: a no-frills English mixture that's simple, rustic, and immensely satisfying.

This blend will show you sides of Latakia that are anything but common; there's no other condimental leaf to take the spotlight away. You'll find a different sort of spice, with the Burley adding hints of nuttiness and making you forget you ever wanted any Oriental leaf besides Latakia in a mixture. The base tobaccos are so well-balanced that I'm really looking forward to what happens to this blend after a few years in the tins.
