About

Brebbia stem polish is great for cleaning oxidized vulcanite stems. Apply a small amount to a soft cloth and work the polish into the stem in order to bring back that old luster. For particularly bad stems, this polish can be used with a buffing wheel to restore a stem to its former glory.

There may be similar products out there that I am not aware of. All I can say is this stuff is remarkable! The TINIEST amount cleans up vulcanite, removes light scratches on acrylic, even polished nickel parts on my Peterson pipes. Had an estate pipe I recently restored with what I thought was irreparable oxidation on the stem. This stuff is like magic, it really impressed me. Works on the briar just as well - it took years of caked soot off the rim of the bowl with just a little effort (to be honest, I used a Dremel tool with a buffing wheel on the rim in conjunction with this polish. What can I say, I was a Teamster for years - “work smarter, not harder” is like the 11th commandment, might as well be a constitutional amendment.)...Read More

I have a number of vulcanite stems (I smoke mostly pre-1980 pipes), and I use this stem polish to help restore them to a shiney, "like new" luster. It does take some elbow grease to work it into really badly oxidized stems, but the results are always well worth it. Note: I usually soak the vulcanite stems in Oxyclean for 24 hours before using this polish. I've done this dozens of times, and again - this stuff yields great results....Read More
