I like the sturdy material of the holder, but one thing I'm going to be nitpicky about is the squeeze on the shank area. It can be too tight to fit wider shank pipes, however it still holds even many XL sized bowls just fine.

I like this one for what it is. It’s soft rubber and will hold a straight or slightly bent pipe quite nicely. I actually use it on my porch. For the car I have found that a MAGNETIC DASH MOUNTED PIPE HOLDER W FELT LINING from an online vintage auto shop works best. However the car I’m using it in has an all metal police command console. It’s a handy rest for straight pipes. You can barely squeeze the shank of a bulldog in. I just used the tape to locate and screwed it into the dash. The pressure from the screw caused a tear. I don’t mind, it still gives pipes that fit a home on the road.
Addendum: the rubbery material tattooed my clay pipe in several spots in one morning. Most marks and dirt come off with a plastic eraser, not those from the pipe rest. Do not put your white clay pipe in there!...Read More

Adhesive did not hold up long, possibly because of lots of sun exposure. And only holds pipes of a limited shape range, so you need to make sure your car pipe is a billiard or something similar of the right size.
