Here Gabriele presents us with one of beautiful Scandinavian-school numbers; smooth, gently rounded of form, possessing an easy arch to its gesture, with complexity added by a few choice lines created through flowing, precise ridges that sweep through the composition along asymmetrical paths. As is proper to such a design, he's used the latter element to frame the briar's natural grain, defining the borders between the lively flame along the flanks and the lovely birdseye that stretches from end to end below. On top of all that, this pipe even sits quite nicely as well.
