About This Pipe
There tends to be two schools when it comes to virgin-finish briars: one which insists the briar must be without visible flaws (in which case it will also be insisted you pay a fortune), and that which believes that briar, like a beautiful woman, is beautiful with flaws included. As the latter is drawn from an Italian expression, it shouldn't surprise us to spot a few beauty marks on this Radice Silk Cut, and likewise they shouldn't lessen our appreciation for it. Just as today's pursuit, amongst certain segments of society, of "perfection" leads to faces and ahem other features which have lost their sense of "realness", a virgin finish lacking any flaw, I would argue, loses a little character for it.
