About This Pipe

Though falling readily into classification as an Elephant's Foot, the rounded forward face and particularly defined edges of this Lasse Skovgaard design call to mind another shape which, like the Elephant's Foot, was invented by the late Bo Nordh: the Sphinx. I couldn't say if hybridizing the two was actually what Lasse was going for, or if things just turned out that way by happy accident of his tweaking the usual Elephant's Foot formula, but either way I quite like the results. We've seen Lasse create a variety of variations on the Elephant's Foot before, but this one seems to strike just the right balance between strong definition and organic elements of form - his best version of the shape yet, to my eye at least.
