About This Pipe
This incredible, compact brandy would be considered "chubby" by almost any maker's bench mark but, for Tsuge of Japan, this piece is positively baroque. While I can't say that I have seen its exact likes before, I am quite taken with it, I am especially fond of that marvelous shank and its juxtaposition with the bowl. The grain of this Ikebana approaches the supernatural, and I am stunned that this composition did not garner a higher grade.
