About This Pipe
Executing Danish classics with just a hint of a Japanese twist is something that Tsuge does rather well. This elegantly shaped bent egg is a fantastic example of that. The lines of the front of the bowl are continued in a perfect arc to the end of the shank and onto the saddle of the stem. Much the same is accomplished with the S-curve that dominates the top edge of the profile of the pipe. The grain is quite good, especially by Ikebana C-grade standards, with cross grain covering both sides of the bowl, terminating into birdseye on that large bottom-front face.
