About This Pipe
I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like this shape from Tsuge in their Ikebana line, and I've seen thousands of Ikebana pipes over the past nine years. The gentle transition from the shank to the bowl, something of an aesthetic hallmark for the Japanese firm, is just barely disrupted as the saddle of the stem comes to a point before gently tapering off towards the button, giving the pipe a finished-ness that it would otherwise very much lack. The grain is quite good, with nice flame grain running around the bowl and a good little field of birdseye on the rim.
