Father the Flame CPCC Screening
It's been a minute since we first heard of Chad Terpstra and Jeremy Rush's briar-focused, feature length documentary, Father the Flame. And at close to five years now, I'm sure the team is looking forward to sharing the fruits of their labour. Well, I've got some good news for you pipe fans, as the whole film will be screening at this year's CPCC Chicagoland International Pipe & Tobacciana Show. That's right, not a 30 minute extended screening, but the whole kit and kaboodle, at 9:00PM, May 5, 2017 in the New Orleans Ballroom.
If you haven't seen the latest trailer yet, check it out below.
In similar news, Cornell & Diehl's re-release of their very first and very popular Small Batch blend, Straight Up English, is on site today. In partnership with the Father the Flame team, and featuring images from the film, Father the Flame/Straight Up English will be a run of 2400 tins.
"How would you like to pair a feature film that explores the history, craft, and spirit of pipe smoking with quality pipe tobacco?
Father the Flame is a feature-length documentary about slowing down, embracing life, and learning something in the process. It's also about tobacco pipes. We thank you for your support, and look forward to soon being able to share with you a one-of-a-kind experience about the timeless and transcendent nature of pipes!
Straight Up English was Cornell & Diehl's very first Small Batch blend: An English blend done the traditional way. No topping. No added flavors. Red and bright Virginias and a healthy dose of Latakia. Straight Up."

What kind of pipe is in that photo of the Straight Up English tin? It's lovely.
@Stephen Windham It's a little Tom Eltang 👍
When will the film be made available for viewing again/purchase?
@Gregory Polla Last we checked they were touring the festival circuit with it, and intended on releasing it sometime after that.
