Welcome to the December edition of our Mystery Cigar Review, where our panel of experts (or in this case, Tyler, Truett, Shane, and me) attempts to identify a mystery cigar with no clues except the cigar itself and the smoking experience. This month's thrilling episode welcomes Jeremy MacDonald of Wildfire Cigars as our guest Inquisitor. The owner of Wildfire Cigars, Jeremy pushes the boundaries of marketing conventions by leaning into campy satire, and was also the National Sales Manager of Caldwell Cigars prior to starting his own company. Will we accurately identify this cigar's wrapper, filler, binder, or even its specific identity? Or will we be stumped by the eclectic knowledge of this month's Inquisitor? What is The Mystery Cigar Review?
For those unfamiliar with this little game, each month one member of our team — or sometimes an honored guest Inquisitor — selects a cigar for us to review in a blind taste-test. Then we gather around the camera, scratch our heads, and smoke, all while attempting to guess the mysterious mixture's components, origins, and, when we're lucky, its name. There's only one rule: There are no rules.
