About This Pipe
Tom Eltang gets quite excited about classic shapes. He makes classic billiards, apples and other shapes for his main Eltang line, but the Sara pipes have given him more opportunities to play with these shapes. According to Tom, he always starts off one of his multiple-week pipe making sessions with classics since that's how he finds his rhythm before he branches into his wilder shapes. This particular example is just lovely-- excellent straight grain covers the right side of the bowl, while tight flame grain explodes from the bottom of the bowl on the left. The classic saddle stem is a really nice touch here too.
