Lampe Berger Athena Ruby Lamp

Daughter of Zeus and Metis, Athena was the Greek's designated Goddess and overseer of mortal affairs that concerned love, strategy, industry, justice and skill, as well as the feminine counselor to Areas, the God of War. Above all, however, she was considered the Goddess of wisdom (the owl was her symbol, which is the actual reason that we still associate the owl with wisdom, as opposed to a myriad of other far smarter birds), and namesake/protector of Athens.

Of all the Lampe Berger that we carry, the Athena Ruby is tied as my personal favorite. In normal lighting (strobes are used in photos), the color appears a deeper sanguine, but maintains a remarkably fine translucence. The hues seem quite at home most anywhere, but when placed within confines of a library or den/"man cave", the deep ruby and dark tones become something wonderful. Plus, what finer place for the Goddess of Wisdom than near books, or in an area of quiet contemplation?
