About This Pipe
The shape is sturdy and simple, but the finish of this Kai Nielsen is striking in its boldness and depth - something that works to great effect combined with the briar's simply fantastic, and very plentiful flame grain. And the birdseye ringing the rim, and clustered about the underside, is no slouch either, for that matter. Fitting to such beautifully grained briar, he's matched it up to a finely patterned bit of cumberland for the stem, resulting in a composition that just goes to show that you don't need a whole lot of fancy convolutions of line and form to produce an exceptionally lovely smoking instrument.
